Current mood: exhausted

I have just arrived back at the Manor after spending a very stressful evening at Hogwarts. Remus did indeed come and find me next to that dreadful statue, thank Merlin. He again offered a bit of tea and I again declined. Ever since reading and focusing on what Hilda had to say to me yesterday, I was determined to try and find my son so I could learn what was, or is, bothering him. Perhaps I put too much effort into things. I do not know. I am simply not learned in the art of parenting and I do try my best. Draco's sudden vepidness is most vexing and confusing and worrisome. All I want is to speak with him in person so I can see for myself, maybe, just what is wrong with my Little Dragon.

We walked around the castle and the grounds for hours with no sign of my son. Eventually we both grew weary and Remus insisted that I stay the remainder of the evening at the castle as it was far too late for a lady to travel. I spent the night in one of Sirius's old rooms and our old house elf, Dobby, was there to watch over me and take care of any of my needs.

When I awoke this morning Dobby alerted Remus and he informed me that he had not yet heard or seen any sign of my son. I shall most likely return to Hogwarts later on this evening to continue my search if he has not been found thus far.

On a side note, whilst I was leaving this morning I saw the most curious thing: Severus Snape looking absolutely rumpled and departing the North Tower! How decidedly odd. I thought he resided in the dungeons?

I must say, Lucius is quite the sound sleeper. I am sitting on a small settee writing this journal and it astounds me that he can be oblivious to my darling new puppy nuzzling at his neck.

I am locking up all of those draughts for my cramps that Severus gave me.

You bought me a puppy, the most darling thing ever! And don't worry about the dog hair; I've instructed the house elves to make sure to pick up ever single strand of dog hair by hand. They are very detail-oriented little things, you recall, and I am sure that you will never see a bit of dog hair about the Manor again.

Oh, and thank you so very much for the Chalet. It's so precious!

Narcissa,

Your son turned up for lessons today.

Also: a puppy?

Remus,

I cannot tell you how very relieved I am to hear that! I shall owl him straightaway. Do you know where he was the other evening?

Yes, Lucius bought me a puppy. She's very sweet. I am sure that you will find her just as darling as I.
