Current mood: accomplished

After receiving Remus's considerate invitation to make myself at home at Dogear Wryde, I departed that dreadful Muggle pub as fast as I could. I had to apparate a few times before finally getting to his estate. When I am very nervous or anxious or upset I simply cannot focus clearly on much of anything. Apparating and disapparating takes quite a bit of concentration and I am afraid that I was not in the best frame of mind that night.

Finally arriving at his quaint home, I made my way to what I had remembered from the last time I had been at Dogear Wryde as a guest room. Quite a little lovely room in the East wing of the dwelling, I found the four poster in my room to be ever so comfortable. So exhausted was I that I do believe I was asleep before my head of lucious, shiny tresses ever laid upon the pillow!

Yesterday I had the estate to myself as Remus and Sirius were not to arrive until this morning. I took the liberty of rearranging some furniture for Remus. I do remember how hectic it is when one moves. It is simply torture trying to unpack and work on perfecting the decorum in a timely fashion. Why, when Lucius and I took up residence in the Malfoy Manor weeks passed before I had even managed to colour coordinate our gazebo! Remus, the poor dear, has been terribly busy since moving in that he has not had proper time to take care of such things for himself. I do hope he likes what I have done so far. It is rather fetching, if I do say so myself.

This morning I had received Dacey (my house elf) and a case of Swedish vodka from Lucius. As some of my trunks had arrived around the same time from the Manor and were in less than pristine condition (something for which I shall never forgive Lucius. One cannot hide a nick in runespoorskin!), I was doubtful that the vodka sent was of both a good quality and charm-free. Thus, I emptied the bottles out in a well at the end of Remus's property and sent the empty containers back to Lucius.

Remus and Sirius arrived this afternoon. I was most surprised to see that they had a guest with them. Harry Potter. Dear me. I do not know the boy, of course, and cannot say with certainty how I feel about him. Naturally I know of what he is famous for and I can recall my darling son and my- and Lucius speaking of him in the past. As he is a guest, no, the future step-godson of Remus, I do not wish to upset or offend the boy. I greeted him as graciously as possible and had a small chat with him whilst Sirius helped Remus up to his quarters. I fear I may have bored the boy, prattling on about Draco's first flying lesson when he was a toddler. I couldn't help but to tell the tale. I saw the broom that the boy had brought with him and it just reminded me of my charming son and things progressed from there.

I should be running now. I think Sirius might need some assistance in the kitchen.

Narcissa, a word to the wise: stay out of the kitchen when Sirius is cooking. He's very territorial. I don't even go in there.

If you like, my grandmother's china and silver are up in the attic. I'm certain you know their proper use so if you would like to go and bring them down (or ask Dacey to do it) that would be very nice. I'm afraid I can't quite walk yet so a proper sit-down in the dining room will have to wait, but you're welcome to join us in my rooms if you like. No sense in you rattling around in this house by yourself.

Help yourself to the wine cellar as well. Just avoid that south corner, I'm not too sure if those are wines or potions yet. I've not had a chance to explore. May send Harry on a map-making mission of this house, I'm sure he'd like an adventure.

Don't worry about offending Harry, by the way. He's pretty easy-going. Sirius on the other hand... well, he's all bark, no bite. For now.

Come up for tea, dear? I want to know how you're doing.

By all means, then, I shall remain far away from the kitchen whilst Sirius is concoting delicacies.

I have sent Dacey to fetch your grandmother's china. She will be delivering it to your room any moment now. I shall follow suit in order to arrange you a nice setting and have a spot of tea. There is so very much to tell you about.
