Is it summer yet?
I know we still have a little while yet before exams but I've already started studying. After I come up from the common room or from the Ravenclaw dorms every night I read a whole chapter of the Transfiguration book Percy gave me and it talks a lot about technique and there was this really interesting chapter about wands specifically, and it has this chart of what specific types of cores are well-suited for. Unicorn hair's really not the best for Transfiguration, but I'll make it work. It's not the core really. Oh, and Hermione advised me to go back and get my first year books and look over the very basics of Transfiguration again, and try to do some of the old exercises, so I've been practising on lots of things, I really think that people at the dinner table are not appreciating it. Sorry! :) I think it's helping. Sometimes I can't remember a lot of what I was supposed to learn first year. And I remember I had Transfiguration first thing in the morning for half the year, and I was always very tired.

On Mondays I get up early and go flying, all by myself. None of the teams seem to need the pitch Monday morning so I'm always the only one there, and it feels like I'm the only one for ages even though the whole castle is right there, mostly asleep. I love my broom, and I love flying. I used to be kind of scared of it but I love my broom so much, it makes me feel really comfortable. I have to be careful not to fly too high or the alarm charm on it will be set off and wake up the whole country. And then, as often as I can, I go flying with Cho because we both need to relax, and I think up in the air is my second favourite place to be with her. She's getting really good at the flute, it puts me to sleep sometimes because it's so lovely, or maybe I just need sleep! I like to lay on my back and just listen to her. Professor Lupin lets Cho practise on the animals in his office and I always take my books, but I never really get any studying done. I try to spend all my free time with Cho 'cos summer hols are coming up so soon and I won't get to see her as much. Especially if she goes to Romania.

Was that you who Transfigured my spoon into a little snake this morning? It was very good except it scared me at first to have my spoon hiss at me! I kept it did you know? It's in a little box by my bed. If it doesn't turn back into a spoon I should think up a name for her! I was thinking maybe I would call it "Ynnig." :-D

I am so glad you come with me to practise in Professor Lupin's office because it is very calming. I like how you fall asleep too because you kind of snore a little, but not loud like Ron does (I could hear him through the walls at the Burrow!). You fell asleep on my lap the other day and I could have stayed there all day like that because you looked so calm and you were very warm, too.

If I go to Romania I will owl you so much! I've even started looking into getting a better owl than the one my mum has. I want a big owl that can manage that distance! I can Floo for visits too and when I can Apparate I will try and get a Long Distance license so I can just Apparate in for visits!

And I am so proud of you for your flying Ginny. You are getting so good and you're a natural. I think you should play Quidditch!

Okay I have to go finish studying now. Thank you for the help with my Mum's letter. I will show you what I came up with tomorrow okay?
