Hermione's the best!
Hermione and I had a lovely chat over lunch today, and I feel much better about the Ball and my dress robes. She also let me borrow one of her own books, which has additional information on the Goblin Rebellions of 1340-1370, a period of time which is not extensively covered in many other texts. That's why she'd gotten the book, she said, and remembered doing the same essay as I'm working on now, and was able to tell me a couple of things Professor Binns always looks for in his essays, which was very helpful and kind of her. She is really a great friend, and a marvelous Prefect to boot! Whoever she goes to the ball with is quite a lucky fellow! :)

I've got to go write to Mum. It's my job to keep her updated about things other than Quidditch. :D

You talked to Hermione about The Nightmare, did you, Ginny? Uh..hmm, did she say anything about er- who she wants to go with...?

She did, but I bet she would be more than willing to discuss it with you if you asked her nicely and stopped calling it The Nightmare - don't you think?

Re:

But it IS The Nightmare! And I've been asking her nicely for THREE days already! What does she want?! Tell me who it is, Ginny!

She hasn't said yes to anyone yet, Ron - and don't call it The Nightmare around her. Truly, just trust me. I know how you must feel about it, but if you acted more - er... tolerant about it, I bet Hermione would warm up to talking about it with you.

Fine, I'll stop calling it The Nightmare, I've been wanting to change it to The Sodding Disaster anyway! Come on, Ginny, give me a clue about the mystery person! I'll sneak you an extra muffin from the kitchen!
