Well, Christmas has been really brilliant this year! Too bad we have to go back to Hogwarts tomorrow, cos Dad says it's much safer for me to stay home and I really agree! Dad got me this great new Sneakoscope, it's huge! It's much better than my old one, and if there's one thing I look for in a Sneakoscope, it's quality.

Justin told me about all this rot with Susan on the train, and it seems to me they're blaming it all on me! Or Susan is, anyway, but Justin seemed pretty mad too. It's not my fault! Boot is the one giving out sweets! Dad always told me not to take any suspicious sweets, it's not my fault Justin hasn't learned the same! Now Susan's not talking to me, either. I tried to talk to her on the train and she ignored me! Everything's always my fault, isn't it? Let's all blame Ernie, cos he seems like the best person for the job!

But anyway, Dad and I went into London yesterday with my older brother Sean and he took us to a pub! Not to drink or anything, 'course, just to show us how dangerous pubs are. And he's absolutely right! I don't know what I was thinking going to the Three Broomsticks at all. Brawls! Drunkards! Justin and Susan were at that brawl at the Three Broomsticks Professor Black and Professor Snape had, but you won't catch me getting caught up in anything like that. Sean said sometimes him and his pals go to pubs after work, but now he won't go anymore, and I think that's pretty smart. Sean's almost as smart as Dad. He even carries a handkerchief so he won't get any germs when he opens doorknobs! I should start doing that, really, but knowing me I'd probably lose it or someone would steal it.

So now I've got the skinny on pubs, and Dad and Sean are going to see me to King's Cross tomorrow. Mum's got to work and anyway, she thinks Dad's always too cautious when we go to King's Cross cos he checks out Hogwarts Express to make sure everything's stable. She says it's embarrassing! Good thing Mum has me and Dad and Sean to look after her, she's really not very cautious!

I guess I'll see everyone tomorrow on the train and then at Hogwarts. And don't any of you try any funny business like trying to steal my Sneakoscope!
