It's really early, but I can't sleep too well. The Lantern Festival was really fun. I had been trying to make a decent lantern, but it kept catching fire. So, it was a bit scorched when I took it down to be judged. Susan had a really nice one.

It wasn't too surprising that Cho Chang got first place. She's a Ravenclaw. That should explain it. Millicent Bulstrode got second place, but I think she just cast a levitation charm on a pumpkin. That's what it looked like to me, but I'm not going to argue. Ginny had a good one too. Ernie was really resentful, though. Kept saying that it was a bit suspicious that Hufflepuff didn't win anything even though Hannah had a very good lantern, almost as good as Cho's, he said.

Well, then everyone did the anonymous note in the mooncakes. Ernie insisted that we have our own Hufflepuff pile separate from the rest. I had to agree because Fred and George Weasley came too. With the disaster of the Bleu Ball, who knew what they'd do to mooncakes. I don't know what happened to Ernie after that...I saw Professor McGonagall walking to our group, and he completely disappeared. I didn't see him again until much later.

Susan and I grabbed a couple of mooncakes and bottles of butterbeer and went to find a good spot by the lake. I kind of wanted her to get my mooncake because the note was meant for her. I mean, she knows this now because I told her that night. Well, we sat there the rest of the night talking about different things, and I promised that the next Hogsmeade weekend that I'd try a chocolate flower as long as she promised to try a cream soda bar. Then we watched the fireworks. We both liked the dragon one at the end.

My mooncake said, "You will have good luck soon." And you know, I guess I believe it now. I guess that means that Susan's going with me..and the others, of course, for the next Hogsmeade weekend then. I wonder when the next one's going to be. I haven't been able to sleep for the past couple nights. Not really well, anyway. I guess I'll try to go back to bed. I guess that's all.

Hannah's lantern was the best one there! No offense or anything.

And, I'm not too sure Hannah and I are going to be feeling well during the next Hogsmeade weekend. I think Trelawney said I'll be coming down with something.. you and Susan should go.
