I had to run a few errands, so I drove the bike into London today. There's a lovely little shop down on Regent Street where I've been buying my cloaks for ages. They get their new shipments in late summer, and I needed a new one.
I almost bought Remus a cloak before I remembered. It was the most beautiful butter-soft brown. It would have looked perfect on him.
I did buy something for Harry as well. But I can't find him.
Edit: There's a note on his pillow. I'll just wait then.

And just what color did you get? Surely it was black. I know your penchant for black leather.
jadedsirius @ 2003-08-10 12:34 am UTC |
Penchant? No, I just look better in black.
I do not think I should be discussing this with you, however.

No, you probably shouldn't.
Are your trousers as tight at the ones you used to wear in school?
jadedsirius @ 2003-08-10 12:42 am UTC |
You already know the answer to that question, as you've seen me in them.

Yes, you've kept yourself in quite good shape, haven't you?

Hello, oh great and illustrious wearer of dead scraped animal pelts. I am of the opinion you'd save time visiting your local butcher and sewing a couple of steaks together. Both functional and edible, you know. And who knows, maybe it'd make you more popular with the wolves. With some luck they'd eat the entire package.

Not to sound ungrateful for your well-intentioned advice, but... do crawl back to your broomshed where you've been hiding all this time. It was much more pleasant when you entertained yourself with your broomsticks and alcohol in a solitary manner.

And yet, you dodge her point.
How is it that one so vehement about his animal-free diet can roam about whilst clad in the hides of hapeless bovines? Tell me, Professor Black: what is the difference between eating a cow and wearing one?
jadedsirius @ 2003-08-10 03:31 pm UTC |
The heat of the tropics must have addled your brain, Snape. I answered that question for you ages ago, over a chessboard I believe.
After subsisting on rats and anything else I could scavenge for many years, I find the taste of animal flesh distasteful. No more than that. I enjoy wearing leather, and indeed it is most practical when riding a motorbike.
potions_master @ 2003-08-10 06:42 pm UTC |
Weep me an ocean, Black. You behave as if you are the only one who has ever suffered.
jadedsirius @ 2003-08-10 09:08 pm UTC |
Worry not, Sevvie. I've no need for your sympathy, nor would I want it if you offered.
Nor anything else, any more, clearly.

Ah, but presumably you, onetime helpmeet of James Potter-the-Quidditch-star, know that one would get splinters in unpleasant areas from such "broomstick entertainment".
And who made the assumption that my advice was well-intentioned? Surely you jest.
jadedsirius @ 2003-08-10 04:04 pm UTC |
I would have thought that by now, bereft of any other company as you are, you would have solved the splinter issue by now. My condolences.
(parent)onourbrooms @ 2003-08-10 07:37 pm UTC |
No need for condolences. Someday, perhaps, you might learn not to form misguided conjectures.

Mr. Potter will not die this time he disappears... the stars foretell it!
jadedsirius @ 2003-08-10 09:11 pm UTC |
Thank you, Professor, but Harry has not disappeared at all. Some people seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that I do not know where he is. He merely went out while I was gone, and left me a note informing me of his whereabouts. I know exactly where he is at all times. He is seventeen, and therefore not in need of a minder.
(parent)sibyllsays @ 2003-08-10 09:17 pm UTC |
I fear you are greatly decieved in Harry! But I shall not attempt to change your mind. Carry on with your false ideas; the stars show all, and...
I won't discuss that. It's simply too horrible.
