I have been remiss in posting with much frequency lately; my apologies. Life has recently become at once more complicated and at the same time much more pleasant. Apologies as well for my and Severus' conspicuous absence this weekend. I had to accompany him to the Forbidden Forest to acquire some obscure potions ingredients. Albus thought it would be safer for us to travel in a pair. Of course, he forgot to tell us that a major storm was on its way. The heavens opened and we were drenched within minutes. We were too far from the school and there was no shelter in sight. Trying to help, I transformed and sniffed out the old cabin that Hagrid uses when hunting. I led Severus there, just in time, because I got the feeling that he doesn't really enjoy the great outdoors, especially when it's raining.

The cabin was well stocked with firewood, and I lit a fire as Severus complained bitterly about everything possible. Soon, though, he found Hagrid's stock of firewhiskey and seemed mollified. I informed him that his clothes would dry more quickly if he removed them. We sat by the fire, Severus drinking and me trying to dry out my hair. He was complaining, and I was arguing with him, as usual. He can be most obstinate.

Then it happened. I never thought Severus would be the one to initiate, but he did, and this time he didn't back off. There is something to be said for years of pent-up frustration.

We barely noticed when the rain stopped.

Eventually, we made it back to Severus' rooms. And continued our... activities. All night. And all day Saturday.

Albus, I don't think we'll be needing the Anger Management sessions any more.

Remus, you were right.

I think I'll be retiring early tonight. I'm worn out.
