I just went and saw Evan in hospital and he should be out soon. The swelling's going down at least and his arms are almost back to their normal colour. Madam Pomfrey said he'd get better faster if his teammates weren't bothering him all the time, so I left. I don't feel too good either and Hermione made me take Pepper-Up Potion, and then Natalie made me take more, so now my ears are smoking and Madam Pince keeps looking at me because I'm distracting people. Me and Ron are trying to work on our Potions essay, but someone has the book we need so Ron is trying to find out who so we can ask them to borrow it.

We haven't had Quidditch practice at all since everyone got back from holiday, because Madam Hooch said we have to find a way to split up the time on the pitch with the Slytherins, and the Slytherin captain wants to reserve it every day for twenty four hours. I guess the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs are getting a lot of practice in the mean time. We don't have another match until next term anyway I think, but I'd like to go out and practise anyway. Sirius and I went flying over Christmas and that was really nice. Sirius is really good.

Ron says Snape has the book we need, so we're probably not going to get to borrow it. I don't see why he's checking books out of the library anyway. I mean, he has to have a thousand of them. I have another book that'll do, I think, so I reckon we'll have to use that, and maybe we can see if Professor Lupin has any that will help.

Do be careful, Harry. Do not forget that Professor Trelawney has recently warned that you may meet your demise in the skies. Oh, it's simply dreadful! Perhaps you ought to consider quitting Quidditch for awhile.

Yeah. I really like Quidditch, so I probably won't quit, but thanks for the warning.

I will be sure to continue consulting the crystal ball on your behalf, Harry. Best of luck.

Yeah, Harry! You couldn't quit Quidditch! You're the star! Everybody knows you're the best Seeker in the whole school! If you quit there'd just be no point in anybody playing anymore, would there?

Last week Prof. Trelawney warned me that the three-legged monster would cause my demise. I was confused until Soblessa reminded me I kept tripping over my tripod. I really don't think you ought to listen to her that much. but just in case, Dumbledore can put a safety net over the pitch, right? You might as well--I mean, we wouldn't want anything to happen to you, Harry!

Er, right. I'll look into something with a safety net, but probably not, yeah.

Lord, Potter, are you so pedestrian that you can't even practise Quidditch without the entirety of Gryffindor watching your every move?

just_harry @ 2003-02-08 07:02 pm UTC

No, I'm just saying I want to practise.

potterstinks @ 2003-02-09 06:02 pm UTC

Well, I suppose if your team needs the practice, which is of course completely shocking -- no, no, I can't tell a lie. This is of no surprise.

Everybody's team needs to practise. I mean, it's not like practising means someone is bad. Why are you even commenting to me?

just_harry @ 2003-02-09 06:52 pm UTC

Well? Why are you?

Because I find everything you say to be a perpetual source of entertainment, of course. To the breadth and depth. Absolutely riveting, the story of your life. We all stay tuned in, of course, to find out about your newest spot or to hear about your Potions essays. You're just fascinating, Potter. My life would be incomplete without these monthly updates.

That's great Malfoy. I'm glad you're entertained.

Call off the book search, Harry, just found out that Hermione has a copy, of course. Silly us!

just_harry @ 2003-02-09 06:37 pm UTC

Oh yeah. Hermione should probably be given a shelf in the library so the rest of us can have access to all of her books.

I do hope you meant that in a good way, Harry.

just_harry @ 2003-02-09 06:45 pm UTC

Well you have an awful lot of them. Maybe you could take out a shop to put them all in or something. Or a freight train. Or a skyscraper.

I wouldn't kid about something so serious, Hermione.
