I have not seen Draco in such a long while, and Millicent and I have yet to find his hiding place. Queenie Greengrass, however, felt it was her duty to inform me that she had in fact seen Draco with Sally Anne Perks and Miranda Mulligan and that I really ought not trouble myself with finding him. Honestly, I wasn't the least bit consoled. I blame that partially on the time of the month which I'm afraid does something quite awful to my nerves and temperament.

I was in such a state I had to march myself down the kitchen just so I'd have a way to channel all the anxious energy. My mother has always said it's important to keep your hands busy. She enjoys gardening and I prefer baking. I do believe the poor House Elves did have a bit of a scare, but certainly, that wasn't my fault. You'd think I'd thrown pots and pans at them from the looks on their faces, when really I hadn't. Everyone knows House Elves are quite clumsy creatures and therefore whoever had designed such a system of hanging cooking ware overhead on a flimsy wooden rack in a place riddled with them (House Elves) was simply asking for an accident to happen. But once they were out, I did have some piece and quiet and got right down to business.

I started off with Chocolate Bavarian Parfait and then moved on to an Amaretto Souffle with Chocolate Sauce. Souffles are notorious for not turning out so it is always quite satisfying when yours turns out nicely. I also did a Orange-Scented Sponge Cake and some Strawberry shortcake when I got tired of chocolate. At the end of the evening, I had also made some Hazelnut Risotto Pudding and Mascarpone Coeur a la Creme. Millicent and I brought them back to the Slytherin Room to enjoy them, but my appetite was spoiled when Sally Anne appeared and said that she really thought it was unfortunate that I'd gone through so much trouble when everyone had already gorged themselves on her Hot Apple Tarts and Macadamia Banana Cream Pie. Well, I thought right then and there we ought to have a nice talk alone but Sally Anne said she had plans with Draco and Miranda.

I suppose, however, I wasn't the only one who had a rather unpleasant evening. I heard that Queenie Greengrass was attacked by a flock of rabid library books and ended up in the infirmary. She was the only occupant who was attacked - the poor darling. I'm certainly grateful that I was lucky enough to not be attacked when I was there earlier.
