Lantern Festival, Returning to Hogwarts
I cannot express my deepest appreciation for Professor Snape's efforts to let me back into Hogwarts. I realize he did me a great favour by using his abilities to persuade Mr. Malfoy to let me back into the school. How ironic that Professor Dumbledore is the headmaster and yet someone not even associated with the school system must be consulted to allow me to return.

I went to the Lantern Festival briefly as it was an easier way to break my return than to simply say so in such an informal manner in my journal. I talked briefly to Mr. Malfoy who was clearly unhappy about my return, which I, in fact, find a little silly as such an insiginifant thing shouldn't worry him. Although, I will try to think positively. Perhaps his perpetual need to bring up my past mistakes - mistakes which I have admitted to - suggest that he cannot find any current fault with me, but only rehash the old ones I've made. He is a clever man and I would some day like to have tea with him where we can discuss the problems with the current government. I do sincerely hope I can make ammends with their family and move on. As I have stated, I do not wish to waste too much time on the Malfoys, but I would prefer to be on good terms with them as they are a lovely and well-respected family.

So here on my part I extend the olive leaf. Inappropriate and wrong things were said out of anger and stupid decisions made to avoid a confrontation rather than face it and resolve it. But I have learned from these actions and therefore, I ask of you to let bygones be bygones, and let us simply both move forward and move past. Together could we not find better things to accomplish than subject ourselves to slytherin-in-fighting that the other houses no doubt shall look down upon us for?

And Draco, darling, we were friends once, let us be friends again and nothing more if that is what suits you. I realize you have the company of Crabbe and Goyle but I wonder if times you do not find something in the conversation lacking.

Enough of that. I do not want to dwell any longer. I am about moving forward and that is what I shall do. I have yet to talk to Millicent but I sincerely look forward to, particularly to congratulate her on winning second in the latern festival. I was truly impressed by her efforts, and I some part of me had hoped she would place among the contestants. The other two winners also did splendid jobs.

I could not stay long however. I wanted to talk to Headmaster Dumbledore and I spent an hour or two discussing certain things with him over tea before I returned to my room and unpacked.

Welcome back to the English speaking hell.

Absolutely nothing interesting happened in Hogwarts since you were gone.

I will not ask you about your days in France.

Graduation will soon come and we can pretend Hogwarts never happened.

I look forward to the times we can be free from this teenage hell called school, and instead be among mature and intelligent people with whom we can actually have conversations.

Re:

Since these people graduate together with us, I am afraid that is not possible.
