I do not think Ron was too pleased having to meet me in the kitchen at 5 o'clock in the morning for I do believe he is not exactly a morning person. However, this was the only way we could really get the place to ourselves as it is now quite busy with everyone making breakfasts for good deeds and I do appreciate my space when cooking or baking.
I decided to teach Ron how to make some breakfast so that I could prepare something for Ginny and Ron for Harry. First, we fried up some bacon and sausages which was not too difficult a task, and making tea and squeezing fresh orange juice turned out also to be rather easy. However, the omelets proved to be far trickier. Still, Ron enjoyed slicing up and mixing the ingredients (although perhaps he did so with a little too much enthusiasm because his technique was ultimately a little sloppy). I tried to give him a few pointers, though I'm not sure they were of much use. Still, he luckily did not injure himself - at least with the knife - although hot pan was a different story unfortunately (but it was just a small burn and I knew a spell to make it stop hurting in a wink).
I told Ron he could put whatever he liked in his eggs (I had initially planned the ingredients to consist, however, of ham, bacon, green onions, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and mushrooms). I wasn't entirely convinced by his argument for adding chocolate, but he assured me Harry was quite fond of chocolate and since I do not know Harry all too well, who was I to argue? However, I do wish I had been able to stop him from adding so many jalapeno peppers into his mix.
With the pancakes, Ron faired better, although some of them were unfortunately burned - like a few slices of the toast - and we had to throw them out. But Ron suggested we ought to add some chocolate chips to those as well, and I thought for the pancakes that was quite a brilliant idea. I do believe in the end it all came together and turned out to be quite a nice little breakfast with sausage, bacon, eggs, toast, and pancakes, and Ron put quite a good deal of effort into everything I tried to show him. Although, I'm not certain it was particularly successful as Ron's eggs turned out a bit runny and more like scrambled than an actually omelet. Ginny seemed to thoroughly enjoy her breakfast in bed, but I am not so certain how Harry felt about his. He can be so terribly difficult to read at times.
Upon leaving the dormitories, we met Professor McGonagall. Ron and I decided to give her a hug together (since Ron seemed a little hesitant to give him one by himself). For someone who is usually so stern, she got a bit misty eyed and said how nice it was to see Ron and I getting along. I never knew Professor McGonagall could be such a sensitive sort.
