Mother has decided to spend a few months at our summer house in France. She doesn't usually go until late May, but she has become obsessed with leaving early this year. She tried to convince me, of course, to accompany her there and finish the term at Beauxbatons (which was an utterly ridiculous suggestion). Hogwarts has the finest education in all of Europe, and even if I did transfer, it'd be far too late to catch up on their classes and I haven't any desire to redo another half a year. Mother says that it really doesn't matter where I finish school, but she doesn't understand really. It isn't just about the schooling after all.
It was good to see Millicent and Draco again. Mother was in such a state over the entire holiday that I could barely get away from her to go to Draco's party and so I saw them very rarely. Thus, it's unsurprising that I should have missed them so terribly. I would have liked to be able to talk to them about a great deal of things. I wouldn't have minded seeing Ron or Ginny again either, but I fear they have other things occupying them at this time.
I sent their family a sympathy card, but I've wanted to do something more than that. I spoke to Professor Dumbledore and he's approved my request to plant a tree on the Hogwarts ground in memory of this unfortunate occassion. It's a lovely little hawthorne sapling that I plan to plant sometime this afternoon. I suppose there really isn't much else to say on the matter.
I wonder if Millicent and Draco are not free this afternoon, as it would be nice to have them to myself for a while. Of course, this is a rarity when you've got such popular companions.
