Draco's Costume
I know I said Draco would look adorable despite whatever costume he wore, but I was mistaken. After all, Draco can hardly look as adorable as himself when he is someone else! Far be it for me to question his judgement but honestly with the whole affair between Professor Vector's "stalking Potter" intervention, I really don't believe it was the wisest choice.
Besides, we all know he would have looked much better in the costume I had presented him... Speaking of which I don't see why he couldn't have worn my costume with his costume idea.
I don't understand, however, why Harry and his friends decided to make such a scene when they saw Draco. They are so excitable. We are wizards, after all, and it is to be expected that someone or another will show up to the ball as someone else. It was only a costume, and tricking people about who you are is half the fun. That is why so many people love Hallowe'en and masquerades, because you get to pretend to be something else.
However, I thought the whole fight, although terribly amusing, was rather silly, and I told Millicent so. We decided it was not worth the trouble to get involved and instead sampled some of the food at the table. The ball had the most delicious cream puffs... I admit I stashed some of them, custard muffins, and a few other treats in my Little Red Riding Hood basket so Millicent and I could snack on them later in the night.
Draco, of course, has gone to the manor for his parents' Hallowe'en party. I do hope he has a good time, although he did not seem very excited to go. Perhaps I ought to text him some time later.

On the contrary, I think it was the wisest choice. After all, at least there was entertainment at the ball, wasn't there?
And of course it was just a costume. I don't see why they had to get their collective knickers in a collective twist. As though no one's ever used Polyjuice on Hallowe'en before.
The Manor is so superior to Hogwarts. Just think, while I'm sitting here in my bed with three-hundred thread-count sheets, you're probably sitting in a cold wooden computer chair. Alas.

Unfortunately, you are right. Hogwarts is always terribly cold and they have such awful furniture. I would say I wish you could stay at the manor, but I miss you too much. I hope you are coming back soon.

Unfortunately, I'm returning Sunday evening. But if you're lucky, I'll have Mother pick something up for you. My Father sends his regards to your father.

Sunday seems too far away. Still, tell your parents I wish them the best on their gala this evening.
potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 12:35 pm UTC |
Yes, while you can spend the evening at Hogwarts practically free of an entire teaching staff, I get to spend the evening with them at home. What a wonderful gala it will be.

I would almost feel sorry for you but you are at the manor which is warm and cozy and without slightly insane houselves (one would hope).
(parent)potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 12:44 pm UTC |
Fair enough, I suppose. Though surely the professors could have at least offered me the common courtesy of not following me home for the weekend.

I thought so, too, myself.
I want presents.

I'll have you know My Mother gets the best tropical bananas in the world sent here.
(parent)potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 02:08 pm UTC |
Well, they were my bananas!
And of course you do. It is simply the wonder that is me.
petitemillicent @ 2002-11-02 01:57 pm UTC |
Big ones.
Remember to measure them this time, Draco.
M. B.
potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 01:59 pm UTC |
I am not measuring a sodding banana, and just for that, now I'm never giving you details.
(parent)la_pensee @ 2002-11-02 02:01 pm UTC |
You hardly need to measure a banana to know it's big, Draco, darling.
(parent)potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 02:04 pm UTC |
Sorry, but I've already eaten it. I could go get the peel and measure, but I've thrown it into the hallway and a house-elf just thoroughly squashed it when it slipped on it and fell.
(parent)la_pensee @ 2002-11-02 02:07 pm UTC |
That sounds delightful. I'm happy the banana was made such good use of.
(parent)potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 02:13 pm UTC |
Well, naturally. I have to do something for entertainment, don't I?
(parent) petitemillicent @ 2002-11-02 02:04 pm UTC Re: |
Now, now, no need to get all sulky.
I am not asking you to look for a measuring tape.
Just measure them by mouthfuls.
M. B.
potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 02:12 pm UTC |
I'm afraid that somehow I forgot to think of that imperative mouthful-counting. You'll have to wait.
(parent)petitemillicent @ 2002-11-02 02:22 pm UTC |
And wait I will.
Go get another one.
You have all night.
M. B.
potterstinks @ 2002-11-02 02:24 pm UTC |
THERE ARE NO MORE BANANAS! IF I'M GOING TO HAVE ANY FRUIT, I WILL HAVE A GRAPEFRUIT, OR POSSIBLY SOMETHING FROM THE MELON FAMILY.
(parent) petitemillicent @ 2002-11-02 02:34 pm UTC Re: |
I am disappointed in your taste, Draco.
Such spherical fruits will not gratify you.
Pansy and I are owling you some bananas now.
M. B.
petitemillicent @ 2002-11-02 02:45 pm UTC Re: |
Oh, what I would not give to see you prove that.
M. B.
la_pensee @ 2002-11-02 02:49 pm UTC |
It is too late really. We have already sent him the bananas and if he does not eat them, it shall be disappointing.
(parent) petitemillicent @ 2002-11-02 02:55 pm UTC Re: |
Did you include the measuring tape in the parcel?
M. B.
la_pensee @ 2002-11-02 02:58 pm UTC |
Of course I did. I, myself, do not trust mouthfulls, afterall. It varies too much from person to person.
(parent)la_pensee @ 2002-11-02 03:03 pm UTC |
Draco, dear, don't be upset. Bananas are very good for you.
