Current mood: tired

Ain't Nowt As Queer As Folk.
I have had a most productive evening.

The reading list has been owled, so I expect the library to be a true disaster by tomrorow evening, and the first lesson is finished and ready to be handed out in class tomorrow. It was more taxing to put together than I expected it to be. I am not looking forward to the rest of it. It's an unpleasant thing to have to think about, let alone write down and explain to teenagers who, Godric-willing, will never know such things in their own lifetimes.

While going through my books and papers for materials I came across some rather old photographs of my grandmother's estate, and I thought it might be interesting to put them up, so those who weren't able to come last weekend might have a look at my new dwellings. It is a bit ornate for my tastes, but it's where I grew up so I can't think of it as anything other than home. I spent many an afternoon sitting here, reading or watching seabirds. There wasn't much else to do, really, and my cousins would not play with me.

This was my grandmother's favourite room in the house. She entertained here constantly, mostly other wealthy families in and around Scotland. I loved this room. (And any remaining doubts anyone might have had about my persuasion are completely dashed to bits.)

I may have more photographs lying about, somewhere. I should really get started on putting together albums. I'm certain Harry would want the ones of his parents, anyway, and Sirius and I could stand to frame a few. Perhaps then memories would no longer be painful, but cheerful, if we were surrounded by more of the happier ones.

I also had a very nice tea with [info]hannahabbott, who was nice enough to humour her old teacher and offer an opinion on some invitation designs. As much as I liked the ecru, Hannah, I think I'm going to go with the other one. Parvati said it was very much in Tune with the Aether, and far Be it from Me to Be Difficult with the Spirits when they Deign to Speak. You understand, Of Course.

And now, it's time for bed. An early start tomorrow, as apparently I need to arrange some partners for certain students who cannot seem to find one on their own. I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't have partners yet. We'll make sure everyone's taken care of.

Goodnight.
