Current mood:busy

Just an entry while I'm taking a break.
Honestly, it amazes me that anyone ever gets any work done around here sometimes, as there's so much time spent on journals, arguing. Ron and Malfoy fight more than ever here, and as of late, the fighting has extended to Harry and Ginny, too! However, I do support the intentions behind keeping journals and participating in the community, and it does appear that Ron and Ginny have made up regarding Cho. Contracts aren't the route I would have taken, but at least things are getting settled! Ginny seems very happy. I must say that I should have figured out what happened at the Hallowe'en Ball sooner. When I look back, it seems quite obvious! Since the Polyjuice Potion takes a month to brew, Cho had obviously carefully planned her attempt at wooing Ginny. Polyjuice takes patience and focus; it's no mundane task, so the fact that Cho bothered really does speak volumes on how she feels for Ginny, I think. I hope Ron can see it that way someday. Sometimes it takes him an awfully long time to wake up to things. Cho seems very nice, though I'm not certain I like hearing insults passed back and forth in Mandarin. Ron, you will lend me that dictionary, won't you?

I've been in the library, of course; the moment I read that Professor Lupin was to be giving lessons regarding werewolves, I rushed there to get a head start on the reading. I ended up reading tonnes of extra books that didn't appear on the reading list. It's always very interesting (and sometimes amusing!) to read about Muggles from a wizarding standpoint, especially coming from a Muggle family. I had so much to write about in answering Professor Lupin's questions that I filled up several extra sheets of parchment! I tried my best to keep my handwriting neat and small so I wouldn't be turning in too much!

Along with the werewolf assignments, I've been working on some extra credit essay for Arithmancy (Oh, I must see Professor Vector when I have a moment!) and History of Magic (The Witches' Movements of the seventeenth century are utterly crucial to understanding the Witches' Movements of the eighteenth century, it's simply fascinating!). It's been difficult to talk to Ron lately, as he has been so adamantly angry - he simply lashes out at those who try to reason with him. I've been too piled with work to demonstrate much patience with him. In effort to try and get him to do something constructive, I tried to give him a book to take his mind off things, but he simply fled from it. As for Harry, he's well within his rights to be angry with Ron for what Ron said about Cedric Diggory - honestly, Ron! - but getting drunk? (I know it was an accident, Harry, but you could have realised, don't you think?) He seems distracted by something lately, and I don't think he wants to tell me what's really going on. I'll figure it out sooner or later. And Harry, I am so sorry about the quill! Thank goodness you ducked in time. I hope that this doesn't deter you from talking to me if you feel like it. In fact, I'd like to talk to you sometime soon, provided we're not too busy with our werewolf assignments. I hope you and Ron make up soon. I simply can't concentrate as well when you fight.

On top of all this, I've been counseling a few second years on what electives they might like to take for their third year. I really quite enjoy Prefect duties when they don't involve cleaning up messes left by others - and yes, whoever left the Gryffindor common room in such disarray Tuesday, I am talking to you! Please do try to have a little more respect for the commons we all must share.

As for Malfoy, his behaviour is so disgusting that I am simply appalled. He deserves every detention he's gotten. Sometimes, I simply cannot believe he is a Prefect. For what it's worth, I hope Malfoy finds a "worthy" girlfriend, if at least to distract him from trying to make other people miserable.

Oh, I've plenty of much thicker, heavier books I can throw at your head, Ron Weasley.

Well, Ron, I do hope that when you take Anger Management - as you really need it - you do not end up shagging anyone else.
