Current mood:determined

Of Animagi and others behaving like animals...
Well, it's certainly been a bit crazy around Hogwarts, although you'd think I'd be used to it by now. Still, I can't help but want things to be a bit more calm.

Ron's been trying to fight half the boys in school, and while I can certainly understand being provoked, I don't want to see him get hurt (although to be honest, I think it's rather more likely that the others will be hurt BY Ron). I don't want to take points from my own House, but what choice do I have? I can't make an exception just because he's my boyfriend. And I have to discourage fisticuffs, even if some people seem well deserving of a thrashing.

Then there's the new bane of my existence. I was attempting to find out about his protest, as I certainly can understand fighting for a cause (which he doesn't really seem to HAVE, but that's neither here nor there), and he got all snippy and insulting with me! And THEN he stepped on Crookshanks!!! Honestly, I don't understand him. How can you be so mean to a poor defenceless animal??
I feel rather badly for the rest of Ravenclaw - Boot's lost a total of 70 points for his House in less than a week. He claims not to care about House points, but I doubt everyone feels the same.

The latest Animagus class was the best yet! Professor McGonagall and Sirius led us through some exercises to help us determine what animal we might be if we did have the talent. We had to think about the appearance of the animal, its color, size, special markings; what its strengths and weaknesses are; what it eats and it finds food; and what sort of home it has. We also did tests such as this one (this is only an example of course - the tests we had to take were much more complex).

Once we'd decided what animal we would be, either Professor McGonagall or Sirius actually transfigured each of us into that animal!! It was incredibly exciting, although a bit scary as well. As most of you know by now, I was a fox. It was fascinating - I could hear things better with the big ears I had, and all the smells! It was overwhelming to say the least. I didn't go very far - just stayed near the class and investigated what I could without getting out of sight. We stayed in the animal form for a while - I lost track of time to be honest - so the professors would be able to tell whether or not we should continue. I was really thrilled when they said I should come back for next week's lesson. There haven't been any guarantees that any of us would get this far, so I am quite happy and relieved about it.

We also have the Dracology Lecture coming up, and Charlie will be coming for Romania to help Professor Lupin, which is a great thing in and of itself, but apparently there is to be another surprise as well. I wonder...

Yes, none of us are very happy with Terry's behaviour. I'm glad you realise he's really not representative of Ravenclaw House.

The class was great last night, wasn't it? I think you dealt better with your Animagus form than I did, but altogether it was definitely a lot of fun.

I don't understand Terry at all. And I think he's getting worse!

I thought you did just fine when you were Transfigured! Of course, it was harder to tell when I wasn't entirely myself, but you know what I mean. It's all so interesting!

I know what you mean! Hannah-The-Otter just wanted to go for a swim. Really, really wanted to go for a swim.

I'm not sure the Professor Black really appreciated the bite I gave him, either, while he was trying to catch me to change me back.
