Sad . . . and unbelievably relieved
Also feeling a little dizzy and sick. I have O- blood, the universal donor type, and so the healers asked me to donate some, which I was glad to do. I was hoping that they'd use it on Harry. Instead they ended up using it on Colin! But that's perfectly all right.

I sat with Colin for part of yesterday, while he's been unconscious. He looked so small and battered and helpless, all wrapped up with bandages all over him, and looking at him lying there, I couldn't be mad at him anymore. I find that I just can't hold a grudge over what he said, after all we've been through. It seems pointless. I guess he left the Great Hall to try to find his little brother Dennis. It was a misunderstanding--Dennis was safe all the time. It made me think, you know, no matter what Colin thinks about the rest of his house, and no matter how mad he's been at us, I guess the Sorting Hat put him in the right house, too. When they brought the news about Soblessa, I felt so sorry for him, and I was glad that he wasn't awake. I hope they wait a good long time after he wakes up to tell him.

I do think my time sitting with Colin is about the only time I've sat down since Friday. Well, I did catch a little sleep the last two nights, too. But I've been doing everything I can think of to help, trying to help Seamus and Madam Pomfrey. Seamus has just been amazing. I'm sure he could be a great mediwizard some day, if he wants to go that route. Very cool in an emergency. And I've been in the greenhouses a lot with Professor Sprout, working to harvest and prepare medipotion herbs--well, when Professor Sprout wasn't helping with the searches and evacuations, that is. I did also snatch some time to contact my Gran through Professor Lupin's fireplace last night, just so she'd know I was all right. Not used to seeing Gran so shaken.

But anyway, aside from the sad news about Soblessa and the other students who didn't make it, the big news was when they brought in Professor Flitwick and the Hufflepuff students who'd been trapped for so long and then, finally, Harry. We got the word quite late, and Hermione had fallen asleep on a cot in the hospital wing without even meaning to (she'd been reading aloud to some of the injured students who'd come in earlier, just to help keep their minds off things), but of course we woke her up right away. So she and Ron were waiting in the hospital wing when they brought Harry in, and I know they just wanted to fall on him in their relief, we all did, but it was pretty obvious he was in too bad a way for them to do that. The mediwizards shooed us all out pretty quickly, and so Ron is relieving his pent-up feelings by pacing back and forth in front of the room where Harry is. He'll probably wear a groove in the stone floor before he gets the chance to see Harry again. But it's enough for the moment to know that we've found Harry and all the rest, and they're getting the best possible care, and they're going to make it. We're all so relieved for the ones that we've found. But the ones that we've lost . . .

Neville, I need your help with something out on the lawn. Could you perhaps round up a few other students - I should think Susan, Luna, perhaps Terry if he is not otherwise occupied would be helpful - and go out to Hagrid's? He'll explain everything and give you a hand rounding them all up.

I would help you all but I don't want to stray too far from the hospital wing.

Cheers Neville, a thousand Chocolate Frogs have your name on them.
