Mingling with Muggles
Have just got home from escorting Harry back to London. Haven't been on the Hogwarts Express in three years, and it was a very odd thing to sit in a compartment with Sirius, and Harry, because... well, just very odd. At any rate, I think Harry enjoyed the extra company - I hope he did - and he seemed pleased when we stepped off the train and that Dursley fellow's head turned a very interesting shade of purple.

Honestly, how can a man's face change colour without magic, I would like to know? Because it became a shade of puce that reminded me of Malfoy, when Sirius introduced himself. Then, a delightful shade of orange not seen outside of a Bertie Botts box when I revealed my second nature. Then a few of our friends turned up - I think Dursley was most impressed by Mad-Eye's revolving eyeball, judging from the very lovely shade of indigo he became at the sight of it - Tonks liked it so much she turned her hair the same colour later, in tribute.

Most amusing, however, was the unexpected arrival of Hagrid, who loomed over the Dursleys like the man-mountain he is. He's told me about his first meeting with them, over pints at the Hogshead, and it was extremely funny. Pity Dursley didn't seem to subscribe the same humour to it. I've never seen a man that large run that fast.

Anyway, I'm pretty certain that the Dursleys won't be shutting Harry into any rooms or cupboards, and that the nice laptop computer that Sirius gave him will not be taken away or anything. So, we'll be in contact with Harry with no more than three days between, or else we'll be paying a visit to Privet Drive. And while I am an amicable man, Sirius is a lousy houseguest with an itchy wand-hand.

Right. Time to unpack, and pretend this hole in my heart where that boy should be isn't making it very hard to breathe right now. At least I have my beloved, though he doesn't look any better than I do at the moment. I don't need Parvati to forsee a long night of heavy drinking ahead of us.

Goodnight, all. See you next term.

Just the same, Professor, I think I'll test out my vocal skills on those muggles. I don't USUALLY like to say ill things about Harry's family, but after the year he's just had...

I fear you, Molly. Give them hell from all of us.
