Attention, Professor Black.
As I was perusing my 'friends' list, I couldn't help noticing that while you did award points to make up for the ones that Professor Snape took from the other houses during the Hallowe'en ball, you didn't bother to reward any to Slytherin to make up for the fifty we lost when every first year had five points taken away. Surely this was an oversight.

I, M. B., would like to publicly voice my full support for Draco Malfoy right here.

Obviously not, or else you would have rallied, at least.

It troubles me slightly that you are not threatening the public with your badge-making skills this time.

I'd have to think of a clever phrase, obviously, and I suppose it's only fair to give him the opportunity to give us the points. Besides, now that you've said it on here, what's the point? People will expect badges now. There's no point in making badges if they aren't a surprise.

Favouritism Is The New Black, perhaps?
It was not very surprising the last seventeen times, you realise.

potterstinks @ 2003-11-04 01:23 am UTC |
Two does not equal seventeen. First of all, 'is' and 'the' would not be capitalised, and secondly, I'm not going to use a slogan you've made up and published for the world to see. Evidently you missed the look on Potter's face in fourth year or else you'd know that it was, in fact, rather surprising if you didn't happen to live with me.
(parent)petitemillicent @ 2003-11-04 01:26 am UTC |
Potter looks surprised every single time Professor Snape takes points from him.
M. B.
potterstinks @ 2003-11-04 01:29 am UTC |
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Nonetheless, don't lie. It's rude.
petitemillicent @ 2003-11-04 01:35 am UTC |
Well.
In his defence, some days he only looks slightly taken aback.
M. B.
potterstinks @ 2003-11-04 01:41 am UTC |
Yes, but on some days he looks betrayed and aghast, and that's just ludicrous.
(parent)petitemillicent @ 2003-11-04 01:45 am UTC |
Such as the last seven times his potion bubbled over and died on his shoes?
For someone who Lived, he does not seem very prepared for mundane situations.

He absently tried to jump out of the Top Box during the Quidditch World Cup in 1994 when Bulgaria's Veela were performing. He had one leg over the wall and everything. Of course, he tried to pass it off very casually as though he was merely stretching, but I was sitting behind him.
(parent)potterstinks @ 2003-11-04 02:12 am UTC |
No, just slightly taken aback. It's Potter, after all.
(parent)jadedsirius @ 2003-11-04 08:45 pm UTC |
Well, I'll leave it to some other professor to think of a good reason to award points to every first-year at Hogwarts, if you don't mind. And also if you do mind.
potterstinks @ 2003-11-04 08:52 pm UTC |
I myself thought that Pansy Parkinson's shoes were worth at least twice as many points as Finch-Fletchley's. I helped her pick them out, actually, so that ought to be points for both of us.

Professor Black,
I do have to agree with Draco that your awarding of points seemed somewhat biased against Slytherins. You may not have had to award back all 50 points lost, but surely someone (or several someones) in the Slytherin House deserved at least a few points using the same vein of reasoning you used to award points to others.
Respectfully,
Pansy Parkinson
