Good afternoon, Mother. Did you sleep well?

blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 10:33 am UTC

Yes I did, dearest. Did you?

As always. I caught a guinea pig trundling around on the grounds this morning. Do you want it, or should I throw it back out of doors?

blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 11:35 am UTC

Trundling around on the grounds? It wasn't out near the Japanese garden or the zen garden, was it? Did it damage anything? Oh, I haven't any use for a guinea pig but I daresay that perahps Echo or Gaea may. You may send the pig with Dacey and tell her to gift it to Echo and Gaea if you like, darling.

It was just sitting there fatly, actually. It tried to run away, but its fat little legs were clearly no match for me. I suppose I'll give it to the animals.

blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:02 pm UTC

I would definitely rather that it sit there fatly rather than dig about in our grounds. i doubt there is anything on this earth that is a match for you, my Little Dragon.

Have you plans for tea today?

potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 12:06 pm UTC

Not yet. I've been trying to decide whether I ought to contact Celestina Warbeck in regards to my birthday. I am certain she shall be quite interested to do something for it, even if she is a singer.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:09 pm UTC

Would you care to take tea with your mother or are you getting too old for that sort of thing?

If you feel she is acceptable enough to participate in your birthday celebration, then by all means contact her. However, there may be another singing witch who is superior to Celestina Warbeck. Perhaps this should be researched. After all, you do not want someone who makes public appearances in droves to be an honoured attendant on your birthday, do you?

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 12:17 pm UTC

Of course, Mother. What time would you like to take tea?

Good point. I would hate to discover she'd gone to a nitwit's birthday. Of course, I don't like her much, but it did seem tasteful to ponder someone who enjoyed music, since I don't care for it much at all.

blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:21 pm UTC

Would half four be too early?

I do remember that you are not overly fond of music. You did rather hate the piano lesson I made you take when you were small, if I recall correctly. Perhaps you would not like a musician but instead an artist? After all, it may be rather clever to have a renound artist on hand to create a portrait of you on your most special day.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 12:34 pm UTC

Not at all.

I don't think I'd like my portrait done. I can't stand it. They always make you sit still in such a ridiculous manner. Besides, Millicent might bring one of hers over again and I'd be kidnapped and then it would all be for nill.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:42 pm UTC

Brilliant, then. I shall expect you at promptly half four.

No portrait? Are you certain, dear? You always look so very handsome in them. It is my sincerest hope that Miss Bulstrode keep her portrait at her home.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 12:44 pm UTC

I don't think that paint really captures what I look like. Often it's the wrong hue, which is typical.

Millicent's brought her portrait to Hogwarts, actually. She tried to hang it in the common room, but somehow it started to work its way toward the fire. I'm not sure where it's gone to now.

blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:47 pm UTC

Your skin is rather unique, Draco. Of course an artist would have a difficult time matching such perfection!

That is decidedly curious. Maybe her portrait self is hiding in another frame. No matter; as long as her portrait self or her real self did not kidknap you, all is well.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 12:49 pm UTC

Oh, no, it started to work its way towards the fireplace, frame and all. I can't imagine who would have wanted to put Millicent's portrait on the fire.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:50 pm UTC

Frame and all? Dear Merlin; it sounds as though her portrait self was either desperate to get out of the frame or to expire!

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 12:52 pm UTC

Such a tragedy that would have been, plainly.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:53 pm UTC

Indeed it would have been.

Take comfort in the fact that a Malfoy portrait would never dare befall such a tragedy.

Are you bored, Mother?

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 12:58 pm UTC

Are you, darling?

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 01:01 pm UTC

No, but you've used a rather bored-looking photo to respond to me. Are you bored with me?

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 01:06 pm UTC

Of course I am not bored with you! I am, however, bored with pondering the antics of Miss Bulstrode's portrait.

potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 01:07 pm UTC

I shall go dress for tea, then.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 01:09 pm UTC

If you feel you must, then by all means do so. I have much to tell you at tea as well as some questions as to what you are thinking of doing with one of your Christmas gifts.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-12-28 01:11 pm UTC

Well, I do like to look nice for you, of course. I shall see you soon.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-12-28 01:12 pm UTC

Thank you, Draco. I do appreciate your effort although I think you needn't require much at all. I look forward to seeing you.
