Students, Professor Sinistra and I have opened the hospital wing to visitors. We must ask that you please behave in an orderly fashion and recognise that three hundred of you are not going to be able to get into the wing at one time. There will be a cutoff of no more than 14 people in the room at once, and we must ask that those of you who are waiting in line outside please wait quietly. I must also request that you do not pester Poppy Pomfrey as she has been working tirelessly, and while none of us have slept Poppy has had the most strenuous and incredible burden of any of the teachers here. If you have questions about the condition of the students you may ask me or Sinistra.

Slytherin House, you will all be given updates as to the status of Professor Snape's condition as we learn more. By now you should all have had your wands returned to you and anyone who does not needs to see me immediately. Mr Malfoy, I have your three wands here with me in the hospital wing and will give them to you and Miss Bulstrode when you return.

Narcissa, I don't know if you will be reading this or if you have gone home, but you and your son are more than welcome to use my quarters as long as you need to.

I would like to write more about the events of yesterday but I see much has been said already and I have to return quickly to the ward.

On the 6th cyclical day of the 6th month of the 6th year, it happened.

Requiescat in pace, Remus, Pansy, Lisa, Mandy.

Goodnight, Lucius.

I have been a teacher now for nearly thirty years, and in all that time I have never seen Hogwarts hold the look of sweeping agony that it did last night.

Hilda, thank you so very much for your kindness and hospitality. I think I shall stay on here at Hogwarts until I have made arrangements for Lucius as I need Draco right now just as much as I believe he needs me.

Again, thank you. You will never know how much your generosity means to me during this difficult time.
