I've finished my breakfast, I've packed up my last Hogwarts uniform.
At last the time has finally come to say goodbye to Hogwarts, or at least it has for those of us in the seventh year, and that's the only year I particularly care about anyway. It's odd, actually, because I still feel as though we'll be returning next term. Clearly, I've been brainwashed and this will take some getting over.
I thought that I ought to make a final statement to all of you, and by 'all of you' I mean those of you who didn't make the list I recently assembled. I would go on at length about how terribly I'm going to miss you all, but it's not polite to lie. Of course, I could also tell all of you exactly what I think of you, since it's likely I won't have to look at most of your gaping maws ever again, but I don't feel as though I have the time to do so. You'll be glad to know that I don't intend to fill this journal entry with individual remarks about the rest of you.
Instead, I'd simply like to say:
I AM STILL BETTER THAN YOU.

Potter, she's not removing them, just preventing us from using them further. The journals aren't going anywhere. You'll still be able to read the things that were previously posted. Settle down.

Well some of the stuff that's happened in the past couple years has only been on the journals. And Remus's journal is here. And we barely talked at all outside of them last summer.

You're about three seconds away from hosting your own private breakdown, aren't you? Read what I'm saying very carefully: Lupin's journal is not being deleted. You aren't about to lose contact with people due to the fact that these journals are finished. You've barely used them as it is. Do you really think it's going to make a large difference in your life now? You hate the journals. For that matter, so does nearly everyone else. You can still read everything that was there, as I'm sure you've realised.
Yes, we're leaving Hogwarts. Yes, I realise you're concerned about losing people over it. No one's planning to abandon you, Potter. You've clearly just made plans with Finnigan et cetera. I'm clearly not going anywhere. I'm going off with my mother, obviously, but I rather think that's understandable and necessary.

So then it's just, flee in July, return for NEWTs. How is this different than any other year, really? I'm looking for a sense of finality here. It's called leaving for a reason. This is just silly. Are we going to be back in our old room, but just the seventh years? Or are they going to pile us all pell mell into Hufflepuff or summat?
And why am I asking you, you don't know. Not that you should.
And you'll come help paint? Though I'd understand if you don't want to, or whatever.

We can't, I suppose. So we'll have to take them. And why shouldn't we stay here? There are beds. But I think it would be better to not just stay in our old rooms with the same people. Ghosts.
None of us will know until we get there. It will definitely be weird. But maybe if we don't try to pretend that it isn't weird, then we'll be okay. I just wish I understood why; I mean, he gave me these things for a reason and I feel like I have to do something with them and I don't know what. Like, earn this. I mean, he told me, but not enough. Not enough.
Anyway, yes, I saw it! And fine, so we don't write here anymore, that's fine. It's always odd to write here after you leave school. Cho sort of tapered off after she left. But I want to keep what has been written! There are important things here!
