Further announcements.
N.E.W.T.s will be rescheduled for 31 July and 1 August. If you are unable to provide your own methods of transportation to Hogwarts at that time, the Hogwarts Express will be running at half nine in the morning.
O.W.L.s will be rescheduled for 21 and 22 August. I apologise for the late date; however, it is more imperative that the seventh years are able to take their N.E.W.T.s so that they may begin looking for employment.
Finally, after careful deliberation, I have decided to close this journal project when the term ends.
I know that some of you will be against this decision and that some of you will be more than supportive. This was not a decision that I made lightly. There were many factors in this decision.
This project was an idea of Headmaster Dumbledore's. It is not certain whether or not the headmaster will ever fully recover. There are still several Death Eaters on the loose. One of our most beloved professors has given his life in protecting our students, and two others nearly did the same.
At this point in time, I believe that it would be for the best to end this project. I do not have the time to manage it, nor do any of the other professors. Frankly, it no longer seems necessary. I believe that human relationships are far more important.
When the students embark the Hogwarts Express at half one to finish their term, these journals will be sealed forever.

Oh, Professor. Sealed? As in, we can no longer access them at all?
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-30 07:27 pm UTC |
No, Granger. You will still be able to access them. You simply will not be able to write anything new in them.
(parent)blushcrush @ 2004-06-30 07:23 pm UTC |
I think human relationships are far more important too. Thanks, Professor.
dooglevoluna @ 2004-06-30 07:26 pm UTC |
That's okay. I have seven or eight journals under my bed at home that are feeling realy neglected you know.
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-30 07:30 pm UTC |
That is nice to hear, Lovegood. Journals are better kept private.
(parent)seamus_f @ 2004-06-30 07:26 pm UTC |
I understand not making anything new, but will we be able to read what is here?
Because there are things. There are people who aren't here to write anything more, ever. And I want to keep what they said.
And even things from people who I will see. I just--I want to be able to look back, later, when . . .
I just want to have the option. Can we, please?
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-30 07:30 pm UTC |
Finnigan, nothing is leaving. I apologise for not making that clearer.
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-06-30 07:28 pm UTC |
Human relationships are far more important and I daresay it took this project for more than one person to realise so.
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-30 07:30 pm UTC |
I agree, Mrs Malfoy. I feel this project worked best as a temporary one.
(parent)scotchtartan @ 2004-06-30 07:31 pm UTC |
You will be unable to post to them, Brown, but that will be the full extent of it.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-06-30 07:28 pm UTC |
Professor, you're not going to get rid of the old stuff are you? We'll still be able to get to it? Right?
deanthomas @ 2004-06-30 07:36 pm UTC |
I suppose it will sound odd when I say that I will miss them, seeing as I received a D and all. But I will.
I think the journals enhanced a lot of our relations, but its up to us to keep them going.
wheresmytoad @ 2004-06-30 07:41 pm UTC |
I must say, it's been educational. In more ways than one. I'm glad we'll all still be able to read them, Professor.
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-30 07:51 pm UTC |
Somehow, I imagined you would react in just that way, Macmillan.
(parent)divineparvati @ 2004-06-30 08:31 pm UTC |
I don't think I could afford a computer once school's out anyway so I guess this is a good thing. Though how I'm going to find out what Ron's up to, I have no idea. I guess socialising in person is a lot healthier anyway. I can't say I won't come back to read through these every so often and cringe over how lame I was during school, and how great Professor Lupin was, and how frustratingly cool Lisa was.
I hope I can change.
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-30 08:40 pm UTC |
If that is what you want, Patil, then I wish you luck with it.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-30 08:36 pm UTC |
I suppose I'll have to take up a new hobby now! Perhaps cross-stitch, or deep-sea diving.
wehaveseven @ 2004-06-30 08:43 pm UTC |
YOU WILL NOT TAKE UP DEEP-SEA DIVING, ARTHUR WEASLEY!!!!!!!
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-30 08:53 pm UTC |
How about I develop a phobia of something, that could be a challenge. How about Optophobia?
wehaveseven @ 2004-06-30 08:56 pm UTC |
I think I might just get my wife to teach me how to bake scones. Good ones. Molly scones.
wehaveseven @ 2004-06-30 08:57 pm UTC |
Also I'd like to learn how to knit those socks with the toes on them.
wehaveseven @ 2004-06-30 09:00 pm UTC |
YOU RIDICULOUS BOOB, I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO KNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
