Just another typical day at Hogwarts...
Everybody's been on edge recently. This school's so competitive. Nobody's ever content to just do their best and enjoy themselves - it has to be at the expense of other people, preferably people from another house. The aggression that marked the Lantern Festival was a typical example. I admit I'm just as bad sometimes, but at least I've always tried not to automatically vilify people from opposing Quidditch teams, like most other students do. Cedric and I managed to enjoy each other's company and share the fun of Quidditch matches together - why can't other Seekers do the same?
A big fight broke out in the computer lab between Ginny's brother and Draco Malfoy. I've seen the results of the various hexes they were practising on each other, and I have to agree with Padma in being doubly grateful now that I was Sorted into Ravenclaw. Poor Padma's upset - I must try to talk to her about whatever's bothering her.
Ginny was terribly upset the other day too, although she seems better now, thankfully. I went to talk to her, but... I'm not sure. It felt like she was holding something back. Colin seems to have been making unwanted advances to her. She didn't mean to hit him, of course, but all the same I feel it might be best if he does as he intends and stays away from her in future.
Our two most over-excitable professors are sniping at one another as usual, but I see Professor Lupin has unexpectedly taken the role of peacemaker in this particular conflict. I whole-heartedly approve. Perhaps their example could teach us all that we need to end inter-house hostilities.

Hi, Cho!!!! 8D I got a new journal, as you can see! So now my name is correct!! :D I just wanted to say that I'm NOT making advances on Ginny!!!! I am just her partner in Potions!! But her brother really sort of frightens me! o_o
By the way, can I take your picture?? You look very photogenic!!

Oh, Cho! I do with you'd come talk to me! Please don't worry. I'm not trying to hide something from you. I just don't like running into Malfoy, that's all. He makes everyone upset. Perhaps, if you're not busy, I mean, we could go for another walk? Or perhaps next Hogsmeade weekend, we could get a butterbeer?
