Closing one chapter and opening another.
Recently I had the pleasure of--at long last!--finding a flat that was sufficient in location, price, and atmosphere. It is a small, humble abode just a few towns away from the office. I should have liked to have been in a more convenient location, but this is not so bad. It is in a Muggle town, as it is a Muggle flat, which I find quite interesting. It comes with electricity, which Father marvelled at. I am certain I shall have no use for it, myself, aside from the convenience of operating a computer on such instead of magic, which admittedly tends to be a bit unreliable at times when surrounded by so much other magic.

Unfortunately, the flat has no possible means of being connected to the Floo Network, so I shall have to do all of my travelling via Apparation. I fear any visitors may miscalculate their destination and wind up popping into another flat!

It is not the fanciest dwelling one has ever been in, and I admit it is a bit of a "Fixer-Upper", but I imagine that should be quite fun. Miss Clearwater has offered her assistance, as well as her father's, but I am certain that it will only take a few charms to fix the leak in the floor. An amusing anecdote: evidently, the presence of magic in the flat caused something to malfunction, because the leak that had previously been in the roof is now in the floor! The floor drips up to the ceiling, and I must say, the caretaker was quite baffled.

I move in next week, so I shall not be living at the Burrow any longer. I imagine the solitary life shall take some getting used to; on the other hand, I suppose that mine has always been a life of solitude. Just recently my brother, Ronald, requested my assistance in decorating his journal. I thought it would be quite helpful to include some "links" to other websites, to help Ronald improve on a few things. The result was that he wishes to sell me to the highest bidder. Ah, but I digress.

Things have been dreadfully busy at the Ministry, as we are just getting over the holidays. I must return to work right now, actually; we've just received a fascinating case of a man in Turkey who cut up a flying carpet so he could banish mice from his manor on mouse-sized flying carpets. Simply fascinating.

You can have the layout for yourself if you like it so bloody much.

Do you have time for a game of Literati?

If you had not noticed, I am not speaking to you. Not to mention the fact that each time I participate in a word game with you, I am accused of foul play.

What are you so bad about?! You gave me a stupid journal layout! I'm not really going to sell you, get a sense of humour sometime, will you?!

I want to see your new flat!

Certainly, Virginia. Perhaps something could be arranged over the course of your next Hogsmeade weekend. I am certain that I could Apparate to Hogsmeade. We would, of course, have to take a short train ride, since you are unable to Apparate, and then the Floo from a few houses to the other. I imagine the trip would only be three hours each way. It would give us a good deal of time to catch up on your Transfiguration.

Fondly,
Percy
