How one is supposed to sleep with all of this pandemonium going on, I would certainly like to know. I have already been disturbed thrice by Madam Pomfrey - it seems her stores of Dreamless Sleep Potion have been depleted by a large number of students who are this evening experiencing nightmares. Allegedly, it took two doses to subdue Mr Corner of Hufflepuff. Is to be expected naturally of someone, however, owing fealty to that impuissant House.

Which, naturally, has me awake at this unseemly hour of the morning assisting her in getting the infernal little whelps under control lest they soil themselves with perturbation and lassitude. One wonders whatever gave Lupin the notion that the vexing little cretins could handle witnessing his monthly indisposition first-hand. The man simply has more faith in his students than he does the foresight to know that most of them are not worthy of such credence.

They could have at least put a Silencing Charm on the blasted cage.

I suppose I will go down there and do it for them. This racket simply will not do. One cannot be expected to retire comfortable whilst listening to the bay of a creature in torment and be expected to teach lessons to a room full of simpletons the following day.

The Poena Relever Potion has come to a boil. I will go add the queevil quills and stir in a counter-clockwise motion until the liquid has turned ecru, signifying that the brew has reached completion. I shall then take it up in a phial and go to the Hall to silence that dolorous varmint.

I am through with you all.
