Current mood:put out

Concerning the Strange Times Past
I believe I will be informing the Ministry of the misconduct regarding such a substance as Veritaserum - any fourth year knows that it is not a potion to be trifled with, let alone used to play a prank, regardless of the deserved nature of the victim. I am appalled that the offspring of a Ministry official would tamper with Veritaserum with such callous disregard for the safety of others, not to mention the mental anguish and chaos they have caused. Yes, I believe a terse, strongly-worded owl is in order.

I am also petitioning Dumbledore for the distribution of Memory Charms to all parties involved. The nature of sensitive information divulged during the weekend's indescretions could be disastrous in the wrong hands. I will not see this school crumble because of a childish joke. We would then be at the mercy of much darker forces and not even bloody Potter would be able to miracle it away.

An additional irritation: a creature of some kind has taken up residence in my rooms. I suspect a Boggart which is a misfortune as I do not have the patience nor remedial demeanor to rid myself of such a pest, and he what does is currently enjoying what I am certain is a very culturally enlightening view of a hotel room ceiling. I shall have to deal with the beast myself, once I locate it. I believe it is in the cauldron cupboards, as I can hear it making a wretched noise at night, the yowling of an insane child.

The Potions classroom has found a new location as the rebuilding process begins in the dungeon. I will be overseeing the project personally, to ensure that certain tamperings do not occur again. I am aware.

I have become weary of you all.

I never thought I'd see this day, and believe me, it pains me to say this. You, Severus Snape, have utterly snapped.

Ah, Severus, we hardly knew ye.

Lucius

You are much more entertaining when picking fights with teenagers, Lucius. A more balanced battle of wits, I expect.

Go away, now.

Whatever can be the matter, Severus? Are you lonely now that Remus and Sirius have gone on their honeymoon? No more threesomes for ickle Sevvie? Please accept my heartfelt condolences on this sad state of affairs. I have cognac at the Manor should you need a shoulder to cry on.

I know you're scared of women, Sevvie, so I suggest you start with very low expectations. Perhaps Hilda might be just what you're looking for to pass those lonely winter nights.

Not that it is any of your concern, but I have not the slightest idea of what you are referring to. You can keep your alcoholic pity. I've no need for it. I do not get "lonely."

You can keep Vector, as well. I have better things to go than that addled old cow.

Begone.

Sevvie,

I hate to break it to you--believe me when I say my heart contracts with pity for you--but Lupin and Black chronicled that last drunken evening with just the three of you on their journal. Everyone read it. Even, I daresay, Neville Longbottom.

The horror. Oh, the horror.

I am well-aware of that, thank you.

Confound Dumbledore for making these infernal journals completely invulnerable to curses.

I would not throw That Name around lightly, Lucius. I doubt Longbottom could be placated in the usual manner of pleasing Dark Lords to which you accustomed.

Re:

Why, Sevvie, whatever can you be referring to? I serve no one but my own conscience, as you well know.

Meow, kitty. A "strongly worded owl"? I do think you're growing senile in your old age, Sevvie. Do kindly return to being the insufferable bastard we all know and love.

potions_master @ 2003-05-12 05:08 pm UTC

Ah, look who's sober enough to type today.

Don't call me Sevvie.

Although I do agree that some things best left unsaid were revealed this weekend, I believe that having Memory Charms performed on the whole lot is more than a bit excessive. Oughtn't you concern yourself with restoring your classroom rather than worrying what the rest of us think about you and your fear of women and desire for a feline companion?

A pedigreed witch such as yourself would be better off minding her own bloody business, particularly after having spent an evening trysting with a husband of questionable orientation and an Arithmancy crone.

Ah, wait, my mistake. There is no actual blue to your blood. No wonder you get on so well with the mongrels.

Go now.

blondenarcissa @ 2003-05-12 06:59 pm UTC

The only mongrel I know of is one surly Potions Master. If you continue to scowl in the manner to which you are accustomed, the muscles in your face shall become molded permeanantly downward and the wrinkles in your jowl will solidify. I do hope you shall be pleased with acquiring a prune-like appearance.

If that barb was meant to wound me, madam, you missed.

arithmantra @ 2003-05-12 07:03 pm UTC

Not wanted, Severus. No wonder your manners win you so many female admirers.

(parent)
arithmantra @ 2003-05-12 06:55 pm UTC

I really couldn't agree more, Narcissa. Really, Severus, having exposed your female chauvenism for the act it is, must you now take your self-frustration out upon the rest of the castle? If you have your ridiculous way, at this rate there will be no one else at Hogwarts with their heads straight, and then upon whom will you inflict your excessive paranoia? Perhaps you should simply memory charm yourself and save us all time.

Also, I for one should quite like to retain my memory, as that trick with the eyelash curlers has proved absolutely miraculous, Narcissa. Thank you ever so much.

blondenarcissa @ 2003-05-12 07:08 pm UTC

You are quite welcome.

I shall inform the house-elves that you have got yourself loose from Lupin's menagerie yet again.

Oh no, anything but strongly worded owls!

Pray that is the least of your troubles.
