Current mood: | enraged |
Rather than attending the feast I am, as you may have noticed, resting in Slytherin with spiderwebs on my face. 'Why?', those of you who stayed behind at Hogwarts ask. BECAUSE POTTER BROKE MY NOSE ON THE TRAIN.
That's right. There I was, among members of my OWN HOUSE, where one would imagine that I would be perfectly safe. No, no. Potter and Granger evidently thought our compartment was empty, as along they came, lugging their stupid trunks and their stupid faces. Naturally words were spoken, most of which were sympathetic and civil on my part, and before I knew it Potter's fist was in my face. There was blood everywhere, and now my nose is likely ruined. I've not had it broken in over a year. Here I thought Potter's penchant for violence had finally run out of steam. Evidently not. I also thought he was going to hit Millicent, for which I likely would have needed to fight back rather than continue with non-violent resistance, but I suppose he decided that hitting a girl was below him.
It took the CART WITCH to help get him off of me, but of course, by that time the damage had already been done. Since the cart witch is useless and there were no other professors on the train, I had to ride the rest of the way to Hogwarts with a broken nose and blood in my mouth. Now I've missed the feast and I've got spiderwebs on my face. There's also a substantial bruise on my stomach from Potter's knee, which Pomfrey apparently did not even see. There's no surprise there, as she's rather incompetent.
I also vomited while I was in hospital, which, if you were wondering, meant vomiting up the blood I'd swallowed, so it was all quite disgusting. Now I've come on the computer to drop off an e-mail to My Father, as this sort of thing simply cannot wait for an owl to make a journey.
I've also got ugly little tentacles on my arm and they're starting to itch. What a fabulous way to start my last term at Hogwarts.
To top it all, as you may have noticed, Pansy's not come back to Hogwarts. I imagine she's still at the Orpine Vale, actually, but given that her mother would rather she return to Beauxbatons, I've no idea if or when she'll be back. She's been ludicrously silent over Easter holidays, which I suspect is due to her mother, and now she's not been on the Hogwarts Express. Wonderful.

Darling, are you certain it was Harry that broke your nose?
Are you all right, dear? Can I send you anything? Do let me know at once!
potterstinks @ 2004-04-19 08:40 pm UTC |
Yes, Mother, as I don't think anyone else would have nearly hit me in the face with a scarred forehead.
I'm not all right at all and I think I'm going to be ill again.
blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 08:43 pm UTC |
I don't understand why he would have hit you! Perhaps you bravely shielded another student for whom his punch was intended?
Oh, Draco! I shall send you your favourite chocolate biscuits post haste and anything else you require. Shall I arrange a Fire Talk?
potterstinks @ 2004-04-19 08:50 pm UTC |
The only other people in the compartment were Millicent and Granger, and I hadn't even moved before he hit me so I rather doubt it. Now do you see why Father and I don't share your enthusiasm?
A fire talk would be fine, I suppose, but I truly don't imagine I can do it until later this evening.
blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 08:59 pm UTC |
Well, this certainly makes absolutely no sense! No, darling, I do not see why you and your father do not share my enthusiasm. Surely something is dreadfully eating away at him and he had to release his frustration somehow. If you ask him, I am quite sure he would express great sadness at having taken out such emotions on you.
I will arrange for a fire talk at half seven, dear. I do hope you do not feel unwell then.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:06 pm UTC |
Obviously you've taught Potter to behave much as an animal would, rather than a thinking, reasoning human being. Well done, Lupin. Pity you're shooting blanks--the world really needs your offspring.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:13 pm UTC |
Potter has broken Draco's nose! I know you're fond of the boy, but honestly, Narcissa, face the facts. His true nature has surfaced, with some help from Lupin. How can you overlook what Potter has done? Will it take something more drastic before you realize how truly unbalanced the boy is? Draco is your son. He has been hurt. What further proof do you require?
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 09:15 pm UTC |
I'll show you unbalanced, you inbred albino son of a bitch.
Would you like your nose to match your son's? Seems only fitting since you'll try to put a Mark on his arm just like your own, someday.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:26 pm UTC |
It must be hard to go through life laboring under such heavy delusions.
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 09:28 pm UTC |
It must be hard spending your life with your lips permanently attached to the arse of a madman.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 09:30 pm UTC |
Do you think I could find some under your drawing-room?
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:32 pm UTC |
You're welcome to come look. You do, however, have to promise you will not inflict bodily harm upon any living thing in the Manor.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 09:37 pm UTC |
I don't have to look through your manor. You're not even worth it.
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:52 pm UTC |
I'll pass your sentiments on to Draco. He'll be relieved to hear you've no plans to visit.
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 09:16 pm UTC |
Clearly this is a pattern and a cry for help! This is not the first time that Harry has broken Draco's nose.
I am well aware that Draco is my son, Lucius. You needn't remind me.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:18 pm UTC |
Then why, my dearest, do you insist on extolling his virtues? Clearly the boy is in need of quite extensive treatment, and I daresay your efforts would be better served seeing that he receives that which he so desperately needs, before someone else, who is not as kindly disposed as you, takes care of the matter once and for all.
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 09:41 pm UTC |
I think, dear, that we should agree not to converse on this matter any further, much like we did last evening.
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 09:12 pm UTC |
You speak as though you would know what a human is, Malfoy, having never been one yourself.
Tell me, how long before you teach your own son to follow in your footsteps? Or should I say, how long before he learns to prostrate himself at the hem of a Dark Lord's robes? Weeks? Months? How long before you turn your own child into low-life scum such as yourself? How long has he got, Malfoy, before you hand him over to Voldemort like the coward you are?
I did not choose my scars. Unlike you. Which makes it very clear which one of us is truly the monster, here.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:16 pm UTC |
My son will choose his own path. He will not be forced to do anything. If that's hard for you to believe, so be it. You speak of me handing Draco over to He Who Must Not Be Named. You're forgetting, Lupin, that he of whom we speak only takes willing applicants. No one can be forced to serve him. This is common knowledge--ask anyone in the Ministry. So you see, I cannot, nor would I, hand my son over to anyone. He will choose his own path. I cannot dictate to him.
Do not speak of scars you know nothing about, lycanthrope.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 09:19 pm UTC |
I thought you told the Ministry you never meant any of that, Mr Malfoy. Before? When Voldemort was in power? I thought you said he made you do it. I guess not then, if what you just said is true. Then why did you do that stuff if no one was forcing you?
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:25 pm UTC |
Times have changed, Potter. Yes, I was forced to do the things I did. Imperius is a horrible curse to live under. As to being forced, that does not apply to those who follow him now, or so I hear. He's apparently changed his tactics in regards to his followers. Or so I hear.
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 09:27 pm UTC |
And you're a terrible liar, Malfoy. Though perhaps you simply enjoy large gatherings in graveyards in the middle of the night.
Or so I hear.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:28 pm UTC |
Believe what you want, Lupin. You always did. You, being a dark creature, should know what I speak of.
But thank you for the entertainment.
lupercus @ 2004-04-19 09:38 pm UTC |
Being a Dark Creature means I know one when I see one, you bastard.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:51 pm UTC |
I am so sorry to disabuse you of your most cherished ideals, but my parents were, indeed, most happily married when I was conceived and brought forth.
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 10:41 pm UTC |
Besides, if you're so good at spotting fellow dark creatures, why weren't you able to spot Pettigrew those years when he hid at Hogwarts, under animagus guise?
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 11:12 pm UTC |
Because he could hide a hell of a lot better than you can.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 11:28 pm UTC |
Oh. So you knew, then. Why didn't you say something? That's weird.
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 11:34 pm UTC |
I didn't know until after the whole sorry tale was related to me. Interesting that Arthur, who proclaims to be such a good boy, was harbouring your parents' murderer all that time but never saw fit to tell you.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 11:39 pm UTC |
You knew Wormtail before that, and since you think you're really clever, you must have known he was a traitor then. Why didn't you say something?
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 11:51 pm UTC |
The things I do not know know about Peter Pettigrew (nor do I wish to) could fill many, many volumes.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 09:29 pm UTC |
How could that be common knowledge now? The Ministry thinks Voldemort is dead. So if it's common knowledge at the Ministry it would have to be from before.
So which part are you lying about? You know, if I were you I'd probably say I was lying about no one being forced to serve him. Because that will make you look better. That's just my advice though. Except I don't think that's what you're lying about, which is funny because I know people in the Ministry, you know? I can ask them if it's common knowledge that Voldemort doesn't force people to join him 'anymore.' And you know, I really don't think it's going to make you look good if I do. So you should probably do some thinking before I do that.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:31 pm UTC |
Common knowledge can carry over, Harry. I, of course, am a bit out of the loop.
Perfect. Just perfect.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 09:33 pm UTC |
Carry over from what? From before? Because you just said he did force people before, and now he doesn't.
I don't think it's perfect at all. I think you're just saying that because I'm right and you don't have anything else to say to make it look like I'm not.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:56 pm UTC |
At one point he did force people to serve him, with rather unjudicious application of the Imperius curse. I am sure you know it quite well, being able to resist it as you are.
Later, I am given to believe, he changed his tactics. He decided to be less Machiavellian about the whole thing and to let those who would serve him come to him of their own free will. Perhaps he is dead; perhaps he isn't. I've seen no convincing proof that he is dead--the word of a few Ministry flunkies, who collectively could not find their own ass with both hands and a torch--is not sufficient for me. Hence, I speak as if the new paradigm is in effect.
Did I use too many multisyllabic words for you?
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 09:59 pm UTC |
How do you know I know how to resist the Imperius Curse? Because I don't think you were attending Crouch's lessons that day and I didn't do that good then anyway. But I did get the Imperius Curse put on me one other time. I guess you must have seen it then.
Doesn't Fudge think Voldemort's dead? Does he know you think he couldn't find his own arse with both hands and a torch? Just wondering.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 10:02 pm UTC |
Fudge is, shall we say, intellectually challenged on certain matters. We disagree as to the nature of proof to confirm that such a wizard is dead.
As to the Imperius curse, don't be so paranoid. It was all over the school. Quite a few Slytherins informed me.
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 10:16 pm UTC |
No, I don't. You're forgetting that Draco is not the only Slytherin in the school, nor is he the only one in the school with Slytherin sympathies.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:20 pm UTC |
So having Slytherin sympathies means writing you reports about me? Or did they just tell you that while you were all hanging out?
Because I don't think they needed to tell you. You saw it for yourself. You know what else? I don't remember hearing that Draco did a good job of fighting it off when Crouch was here. Did they tell you that too? Does that make things easier for you?
purestblood @ 2004-04-19 10:25 pm UTC |
From what I am given to understand, you are the only one who can fight the curse off. What a gift you have. That certainly elevates you above the rest of us mere mortals. James and Lily would be so proud.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:27 pm UTC |
Yeah, I think they would. You should be proud too. I mean, Voldemort helped me learn how to fight it off, and he's your Dark Lord.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:36 pm UTC |
Yeah I do. I hope no one gives me Veritaserum again. That would just be bad, wouldn't it?
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 10:42 pm UTC |
Let them. They can give me Veritaserum as well, and then won't it be fun to compare notes. Be of gladsome heart, Harry. I'm sure not everyone thinks you're barking.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:47 pm UTC |
No one does. Not even you. You just don't have anything better to say so you have to make something up that sounds like an insult.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:52 pm UTC |
I'm confused now. Are you just trying to impress me by using my middle name or are you trying to use it because it's my dad's name and you're trying to be really threatening so you're saying I'll end up like him? You should probably be clearer when you can't think of anything to say.
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 11:05 pm UTC |
I've a question: who dresses you and turns you towards the sun every morning?
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 11:10 pm UTC |
I do, so that's probably why I can see through you. Most people can though. You should probably work on that.
(parent)potterstinks @ 2004-04-19 09:05 pm UTC |
No, Mother, I don't imagine he would. Potter isn't like that at all.
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 09:08 pm UTC |
How queer. I thought otherwise of him. Perhaps you are mistaken?
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:46 pm UTC |
Ahhhh. I forced you to injure my son. Yes. The astounding logic of the utterly deranged.
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 09:59 pm UTC |
Hm. I'll be sure to ask his thoughts on the matter. Once he's recovered, of course. Perhaps, if you're so stricken with grief, you might find it more helpful to spend time with the family you purport to hold so dear, rather than striking out at those who have done you no harm.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:01 pm UTC |
You don't know anything about anything Draco's ever done to me. I could probably tell you though.
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 10:14 pm UTC |
I have a feeling your interactions are about to be severely curtailed.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:17 pm UTC |
Is that supposed to be a threat? Because I'm the one who broke his nose. So I really don't think you get a say in this at all.
(parent)purestblood @ 2004-04-19 10:22 pm UTC |
I don't have a say in the matter whatsoever. I have no say over whom Draco interacts with. Thank you for admitting that you broke his nose and caused severe harm to a classmate. I'm sure the faculty will handle the matter as deemed appropriate.
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 09:46 pm UTC |
I see. If I may be so bold, what did Draco to do merit such violence?
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 09:51 pm UTC |
I shall ask him this evening when I have a fire talk with him, but I should like to hear your views on the matter as well.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 09:56 pm UTC |
Maybe I hit him because he asked if Ron wasn't on the train because he was dead too. Maybe I hit him because he said it was a pity it wasn't Hermione instead. Maybe I hit him because he's letting Millicent make fun of the Weasleys so he doesn't have to do it himself and maybe I hit him because he keeps saying I told you so. Maybe I hit him because I wanted to. But I really think you should ask him instead.
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 10:07 pm UTC |
Good lord.
I'm still shocked that he's not a smear on the floor of the train compartment.
Are you all right, Harry?
lupercus @ 2004-04-19 10:16 pm UTC |
Where is Sirius? Can you find him, or is he in a lesson?
Do you need me there? I can be there. I'm in Hogsmeade.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:21 pm UTC |
No, I just want to do this. We have Hogsmeade this weekend though.
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 10:27 pm UTC |
All right, if you're certain. You know though that if you need me, you can owl me and I will be there.
Hogsmeade is this weekend, isn't it? What do you say we go out, you and me - and Sirius, if he can get away. I've got that event at the bookshop but once it's finished I'll lock up and you and I will go have a couple of pints and talk, like we did before. What do you say?
And for what it's worth Harry, I'm proud of you for standing up to them. I know it's not easy, all things considered, but if you ever doubted why you are in Gryffindor, it's fairly obvious now.
Love you.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 10:32 pm UTC |
Yeah. That's fine. I can't leave Hogwarts until then anyway. We're not allowed. I need to get something else for Ginny's birthday. I'll tell Sirius later.
(parent)lupercus @ 2004-04-19 10:36 pm UTC |
When you see Sirius, tell him to owl me. I need to speak to him and didn't get a chance to before he left this morning.
wheresmytoad @ 2004-04-20 12:00 pm UTC |
I wish I'd been there. I'd have pulverized any part of him you had missed.
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 10:50 pm UTC |
Has Madam Pomfrey mended it yet? She is a very astute witch.
(parent)blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-19 11:28 pm UTC |
All right then. But if it bothers you, be sure to see her.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-19 11:32 pm UTC |
Thanks, Mrs Malfoy, but I don't think I need your advice about anything.
(parent)petitemillicent @ 2004-04-19 11:01 pm UTC |
Sorry to interrupt.
I just had to point out a mistake in your little dramatic outburst.
Draco and I are actually able to function and mock others independently.
Carry on.
M. B.
just_harry @ 2004-04-19 11:26 pm UTC |
Yeah, it's really funny. You know what else is funny? The fact that Draco seems to like Sally-Anne Perks more than you. Because she's really awful.
(parent)petitemillicent @ 2004-04-20 09:54 am UTC |
Oh, that hurts.
I may have to go away and cry now.
You know what else is funnier?
When people suddenly like someone they have always hated just because something bad happened to that someone.
Clearly I must turn over a new leaf.
I shall now make Weasleys tribute icons to atone for my sins.
M. B.
just_harry @ 2004-04-20 09:58 am UTC |
I don't like Draco because something bad happened to him.
(parent)petitemillicent @ 2004-04-20 10:12 am UTC |
Well if you keep breaking his nose, I may have to stop liking him as well.
M. B.
petitemillicent @ 2004-04-20 10:34 am UTC |
I am sure your mother will explain it to you when you are older.
M. B.
petitemillicent @ 2004-04-20 10:42 am UTC |
Good, because I enjoy avoiding such challenges in life.
M. B.
seamus_f @ 2004-04-20 12:44 am UTC |
Good times, good times.
Say, once I have my mediwizard license, why don't you look me up and I'll fix that nose for you. I won't even charge a fee. Glad to do it.
seamus_f @ 2004-04-20 12:59 am UTC |
Alas, Malfoy! Is our beautiful friendship to end on this sad note, simply because of your complete inability to get your head out of your arse?
I suppose it must. Likely this is for the best. No, no please; let us have no tears. We must face this future bravely. Stiff upper lip, etc. etc.
Crazy what you could have had.
potterstinks @ 2004-04-20 01:09 am UTC |
You don't know anything about what I've ever had or have, Finnigan. Go keep a stiff lip around your catatonic Weasley.
(parent)seamus_f @ 2004-04-20 01:27 am UTC |
Don't I?
How kind of you to remember, at such an occasion, my present sadness. I know you merely strike out because you have been hurt. Plus ça change, plus c'est la meme chose, I suppose. Pity.
potterstinks @ 2004-04-20 01:32 am UTC |
Given that you're not important enough to ever be told anything that's going on, no, actually, you don't. Do you think you actually register on anyone's mind? Please. You couldn't hurt me if you tried, as I don't feel cannon fodder is worth wasting time over.
Also, I don't speak French. Don't be pretentious, it's boring.
seamus_f @ 2004-04-20 01:51 am UTC |
Why, our entire relationship was based on pretension. Pot, kettle, Malfoy.
Far be it for me to argue with your astute assessment of my relative importance to the community at large. I confess I should derive no benefit from it. If it pleases, you may imagine me to cherish our days together as a special time, when I was singled out for condescension from one as high and mighty as yourself. You will be mistaken, of course, but I would not begrudge you whatever small portion of cheer is left you.
potterstinks @ 2004-04-20 02:01 am UTC |
Why would I want to imagine you cherishing me? Moron.
(parent)seamus_f @ 2004-04-20 02:09 am UTC |
Always so droll. So erudite. I would say that I will miss that about you, but I must admit, I can't think of anything that I will miss about you.
(parent)seamus_f @ 2004-04-20 02:17 am UTC |
You say "begone" . . . and yet I remain! Why, it must be magic!
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-20 02:27 am UTC |
Did you really think you could get rid of me so easily? Really, banning is the last bastion of the amateur. I expected more from you.
Checkmate, Malfoy. See you 'round town!
potterstinks @ 2004-04-20 02:30 am UTC |
I can ban all day, you realise. I'll have you know that harassing someone who's ill is hardly mature.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-20 02:38 am UTC |
Be you sick? Would you like my assistance? No?
But why would you ban someone so unimportant? So insignificant? Though of course, you can ban all year if that is your pleasure. This isn't the only place I will be, and this isn't the only friend that I have.
potterstinks @ 2004-04-20 02:41 am UTC |
Yes, that's right, Finnigan. I'm incredibly idiotic and am going to ask you to cure my illness so you can sabotage my health.
(parent)just_harry @ 2004-04-20 02:49 am UTC |
Nah, we take an oath. I'm unsurprised that you think I would do such a thing, however.
So what are your symptoms? Nothing like regret or second thoughts, surely?
potterstinks @ 2004-04-20 02:56 am UTC |
'User just_harry (538448) banned from potterstinks.'
I've unbanned you, so you can stop commenting with Potter's face now.
No, actually, they're more like a broken nose and vomiting the blood I swallowed. Good to see you think physical illness has something to do with emoting all over the place, though, as that will surely make you a superior Healer.
seamus_f @ 2004-04-20 03:10 am UTC |
Thank you kind sir. But be nice to Harry or he might punch you again. You never know with that one.
Actually, it will make me a superior Healer. And as such, I have this hopeful future diagnosis: Should you ever feel those regrets, those second thoughts, there will be ways to express them.
However I am not holding my breath.
