I came down with a cold yesterday, and rather than allowing Pomfrey to force Pepper-Up Potion down my throat, I instead allowed Millicent to do it. I spent the night with steam coming out of my nose, ears and mouth. Millicent is ever so thoughtful. If, of course, being thoughtful means failing miserably at fixing my cold like a thoughtful person should.
Now I cough severely every time I laugh, despite the potion, so I suppose I shall have to receive another dose. I don't see why I should have a cold. I'm a Malfoy. Surely we ought to be exempt from common colds. I suspect I caught it from Millicent's cat, as it's been sleeping in my bed all week. Who knows what sort of diseases it has?
Half of my Quidditch team has gone into Hogsmeade, regardless of the fact that I might want to call a practice. You would think that they would sit here in case I did, but they're completely thoughtless. Crabbe and Goyle have run off to the wolf's bookshop to see what the fuss is about, Pansy is still recovering from being ill and Millicent is organising her stamp collection in the library. I suppose I'll go into town as well, simply due to the fact that there's nothing else to do. Why does everyone become so ridiculous when the sun comes out? The fact that it's a nice day out of doors does not mean everyone has to go sit in it. Everyone is an idiot except for me.
I'm expecting an owl from My Father at some point during the course of the weekend, so I suppose that will be a nice, albeit brief, reminder from home. I'd much rather be at the Manor than here, but since I'm stuck here with this lot of imbeciles, owl post will have to do. Father says I'm building character by enduring my stay at Hogwarts, particularly since the students in my year are some of the worst students the castle's ever seen, but I'm not certain I need to build more character. I've got quite a bit of it.
My Mother's birthday is 1 May, and though I've already bought her gift, I expect I can look for another trinket in Hogsmeade. It's not likely that I'll find anything suitable for her, but at least I shall have something to do. Perhaps I can attend with Brown, so as to make my life's journey complete.
