I'd quite forgotten how much I love Paris, especially at this time of year. I love walking along the Seine. All the lights are reflected in the river, flickering, and it's misty, and I can remember walking this same route with her all those years ago. The Rive Gauche is much as I remember it, and there's a little cafe I often take my cafe au lait at in the afternoons. It's peaceful, and I took a day trip to Versailles. It reminded me of so many things. Memories are curious things. They aren't real, but they can still wound you.

It seems my days of leisure are at an end, however; there are several quite pressing matters that demand attention. Loose ends, if you will, but I do believe I've figured out how best to resolve them both. Both will require time and patience, but, as an arachnid thinks only of the final resolution when she spins her web, so must I.

She thinks not only of the final resolution but also of the aftermath...and her next web.

Does she? I'd not thought her to be as forward-thinking as all that; obviously I was mistaken. Nor did I think her concerns in any way bordered mine. I was mistaken there as well, it would appear.

Obviously you were mistaken about many things.

Yes, Narcissa, obviously I was. And you seem so fond of reminding me of that fact.

I would love to remain and bicker with you, Lucius, but I am quite busy this evening. I have much to which I must tend.

I'm sure you do. I'd hate to stay and remind you of people you'd rather not be reminded of.

Have a nice evening.

Do stop teasing, Lucius, and be forthright for once.

Believe me, I intend to do so.

Father, I think we ought to spend more time in Paris over the summer holidays this year. We only seem to make it there for an evening of dinner lately, and I do enjoy the parts of it that aren't infested with fat, American, Muggle tourists.
