I am so furious at Albus and I cannot even yell at him because he isn't here. This is completely unlike him. I have braced myself for this. I knew that one day something that I deemed impossible might happen. Nonetheless I do not truly believe something has happened to him. If I did, I would not feel so angry at him. Perhaps, though, I am angry because I believe it has. I shall set aside time in one fortnight to contemplate this.
Though the puzzle is by no means complete, the Unspeakables and I have managed to piece together most of what happened inside of the Great Hall on Wednesday. I have hopes that the rest will soon fall into place and with it will come the return of our headmaster.
If Arthur Weasley is reading this, please be aware that I need to speak with you.

Professor McGonagall, Hermione told me to tell you this. I saw Lisa Turpin die, too, and it wasn't a Death Eater who killed her, it was a student. They were standing on the floor and they had school robes on and there wasn't a mask or anything. I don't know who it was so I suppose it's useless of me to tell you. Sorry.
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-25 09:08 am UTC |
Macmillan, why did you not come forth with this information sooner?! No. Never mind. You must write down every single detail you remember and hand it to me this morning. Absolutely everything, Macmillan, do you understand me? If it is insignificant, write it down regardless. Hair colour, robe colour, size, shape, wand colour. Write it down!
(parent)erniemacmillan @ 2004-06-25 09:16 am UTC |
I'm really sorry. I haven't been up much. I didn't see that much, either. I saw him before it happened and he was standing near Lisa, but I wasn't really paying attention to him because there were lots of people and I was trying to hide, but then when I saw--well, you know, when I saw that I knew that it was him because it was aimed right at her and he was right there, only I hadn't really got a close enough look before it happened, and after it did he disappeared. I'm really, really sorry.
(parent)scotchtartan @ 2004-06-25 09:25 am UTC |
Oh. No, yes, of course, Macmillan. It's quite all right. Just be sure to have that written this morning.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 09:10 am UTC |
A firechat, or would you prefer I came up there? Or what? Ron and Ginny are fine aren't they, I saw that they were okay, things haven't changed surely?
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-25 09:13 am UTC |
No, no, it is nothing like that. I should have said as much in my post; I apologise.
I need you to tell me absolutely everything about Lowell Perkins. I understand that you are retiring. I suggest that you leave your office earlier than intended.
wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 09:19 am UTC |
I am a father first always, I am afraid.
Oh Perkins? He's on holiday though, it's just me at work for a spot.
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-25 09:24 am UTC |
I suggest that you take a look at this. Is he someone Parkinson would have been able to recognise, Mr Weasley? How long have you known him?
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 09:39 am UTC |
I'm sorry, I do understand this, I'm not playing sarcastic or anything of the sort, I just, I have had enough of these sorts of feelings lately and despite working at the Ministry I'm retiring, madam. I'm leaving shortly and I don't want to feel like I'm to get pulled into all of this but it looks as though I have no choice, I see, thank you for that.
(parent)scotchtartan @ 2004-06-25 09:41 am UTC |
Mr Weasley, I am asking you for information, not asking you to track an animal across the country.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 09:46 am UTC |
Perkins isn't the killing people sort! I've known the man for eighteen odd years! He's quiet and reserved and a hard worker! He likes gherkin sandwiches! He came to my son's wedding! The man plays Bridge! He bites his fingernails! He gave Percy a sodding pet when the lad started Hogwarts! He owls my wife to let her know I've fallen asleep at my desk and may be late home when I've fallen asleep at my desk! He's never caused any problem, of any sort!
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:00 am UTC |
THE SODDING PET DAD!!!!!!!! GUESS WHO THAT BLOODY IS!!!!!!!!
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:04 am UTC |
HEAVENS BELOW, I KNOW IT IS A SODDING RAT DAD IT WAS MINE TOO IF YOU REMEMBER!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHO IT BLOODY IS?!?!!!!!!!!
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:08 am UTC |
I KNOW, RONALD, I KNOW THE SODDING RAT IS SODDING PETTIGREW, I'M NOT AT MY BEST THIS TIME OF THE MORNING, FOR! GIVE! ME! YOU ARE STILL A BUFFOON THOUGH.
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:10 am UTC |
WELL!! YOU COULD HAVE JUST SAID THAT, YOU KNOW! AND YOU GAVE BIRTH TO A BUFFOON
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:14 am UTC |
... actually I believe that was your mother, Ronald, your mother gave birth and I just got my hand broken. See you at school, son.
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:18 am UTC |
You and mum are the same thing so I'm stil right! You're coming to school?? You can see Harry's scar, it's gone did you know?? His forhead looks sort of big suddenly
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:23 am UTC |
HIS SCAR IS GONE? GOOD HEAVENS. I'm afraid I haven't read the journals, sat down to and saw this so I don't know, I don't know much. His scar is gone, well good grief.
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:25 am UTC |
Yeah!!! It's quite funny really though I probably shouldn't laugh but his head looks huge and no one seems to be telling him so I just kept quiet
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:31 am UTC |
Well there's nothing wrong with large foreheads. If he misses it perhaps we can draw it back on. Curious, very strange thing Ronald, very strange. Did it just go poof gone? Did you see? I'm wasting the Professor's valuable time commenting here I think, I hope I'm not reprimanded or anything. Perhaps I can just ask Harry when I see you lot.
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:34 am UTC |
Yes!! Poof!! I saw it when he moved his hair and I went WOAH but everyone made faces at me so I coughed
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:40 am UTC |
Good move, good move, I shall cough also, I guess staring's out of the question.
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:42 am UTC |
Not unless you want your toes stepped on by 5 people at the same time, these people are violent honestly
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:05 am UTC |
NO YOU DID NOT!!! "THE RAT" IS NOT THE ANSWER TO GUESS WHO THE RAT IS DAD!!!
(parent)perfectprefect @ 2004-06-25 10:01 am UTC |
Ronald, this is not the time to be mysterious. Father will not understand what you are trying to say from that message alone.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:03 am UTC |
Hello, son. Perkins gave you your evil rat, I do not think this is good.
(parent)perfectprefect @ 2004-06-25 10:07 am UTC |
Father, how can we be certain that what Draco Malfoy says is true? If it is not, there is no reason to believe that Mr Perkins did so intentionally.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:10 am UTC |
Good point, son, he's a Malfoy. It seems a ridiculous story to make up, though. Miss Parkinson and all.
(parent)perfectprefect @ 2004-06-25 10:13 am UTC |
Yes, Father, I do understand that. I simply did not wish to jump to the wrong conclusion. It is not exactly pleasant to imagine that Mr Perkins gave Scabbers to me intentionally.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:17 am UTC |
I've worked side by side with the man for the past eighteen years, son, I don't appreciate the implications either but perhaps I am just old and daft and I don't know what your excuse is but that McGonagall's very persuasive. I've to go to the school now, perhaps we can discuss this all later?
(parent)perfectprefect @ 2004-06-25 10:32 am UTC |
I would not say that it is a matter of a lack of appreciation so much as the fact that it is entirely disconcerting.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:38 am UTC |
Well that too, surely you'd know a person after eighteen years of eight days a week work. I suppose we'll just see. Penny and you could come over for tea tonight, lad.
(parent)perfectprefect @ 2004-06-25 10:05 am UTC |
Professor McGonagall, how can we be certain that Draco Malfoy's word is to be trusted?
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:08 am UTC |
Uh I don't think he has a lot of energy to lie right now really
(parent)perfectprefect @ 2004-06-25 10:09 am UTC |
I see. I simply do not wish to believe that Mr Perkins would wilfully hand me a Death Eater as a pet, Ronald. He was so polite in our guestbook!
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:13 am UTC |
Yeah but Parkinson is you know, you should have seen them, creepy really
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:19 am UTC |
You're so strange Perce, I thought Penelope would cure that but you're hopeless it seems
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2004-06-25 10:24 am UTC |
Why are you apologising to ME for??! What the hell Perce what the bloody hell
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:06 am UTC |
I think perhaps I should come up to the school this evening, if it suits. Or it might be best if I came now and watched my back, I think.
scotchtartan @ 2004-06-25 10:10 am UTC |
I believe that would be for the best. I would like to discuss your last visit to Azkaban, if at all possible.
(parent)wehaveseven @ 2004-06-25 10:13 am UTC |
Creepy place, that. Oh, jeepers, I'm on my sodding way.
