Current mood: happy

Tra la la
It is most likely tempting fate to write about how well things are going, but as I didn't hesitate to write how poorly they went last month, I'm going to plunge ahead. Superstition be damned.

(Read the above as Famous Last Words.)

The chocolates are gone but the card is still in my trunk. Had I realized it would take a monumental sulk on my part to get his attention, I would have done it earlier, but all's well that ends well.

The Animagus Practicum is going much better than I had expected. It's bloody hard work, but rewarding. McGonagall seems pleased with my work, in her way, and I'm getting some good practical knowledge even if I don't ultimately have the talent. What's most interesting is seeing the way the skills that we learn separately are really all just parts of a whole. Now I find myself in charms thinking about transfiguration, and in potions thinking about DADA. Really broadens your perspective, this does. That is, for the inquisitive mind that is open to new things, rather than those who think they already know everything.

Of course, watching current interaction among our teaching staff at close quarters is a fringe benefit of the class. I was very sorry to hear of Professor Black's accident. Harry was beside himself, which was surprising only because you usually can't tell what he's thinking, at all. Obnoxious of them not to count him as family, really. At any rate, I'm glad to see that he is up and around again. He's a brilliant professor, not to mention that we need all the eye candy around here that we can get.

Meanwhile, Hufflepuff house sadly continues to tear itself apart. [info]hannahabbott, keep fighting the good fight, and let me know if you need any help.

Hogsmeade this weekend! Dean, what would you like to do?

Hey, well...I was thinking we could...go by the Three Broomsticks? Maybe? Or not. Whatever you like is fine.

Thanks, Seamus. I just think Snape wasn't counting me as family, and I don't really think that's surprising at all. I hope you and Dean had a good time at Hogsmeade.

seamus_f @ 2002-09-08 10:07 pm UTC

NOT surprising, unfortunately. But to say more in such a public forum would not be wise, I think.

I believe we did have a nice time, thank you. You may want to ask Dean, though. He's nearly as tough to read as you are.

Sometimes patience is a grand reward, Seamus, a grand and beautiful reward. I'm glad things are working out for you - you deserve it.
Wish I could say the same thing about my life at the moment, but I can't grippe. Anything I do has consequences and I have to live with those consequences.

hannahabbott, keep fighting the good fight, and let me know if you need any help.

Do you think I could talk to you later, Seamus? I really need to talk to someone.

seamus_f @ 2002-09-08 09:17 pm UTC
of course!

Hannah, please feel free anytime! I'm rather a good listener when I shut up long enough.

Re: of course!

Thanks Seamus...it's just, with the tension in the house and everything it's all extremely strained. How about straight after class today? I have to go down and meet Ernie at 4:30 - I have an apology that needs to be said.

I'm really happy things are going really well for you, Seamus! It's nice to see that silly smile back on your face again!

Hugs and rainbows,
