Current mood:gloomy

While the burns I've been suffering have been simply

, I will admit that it has been nice having Severus fuss over me like an expectant mother. The burns are, fortunately, not quite as

as they were before, with many thanks to Severus's brilliant Potions, but the healing is a slow process. Since I am sure no one has noticed, this means Astronomy lessons have been called off indefinitely. Until I reach my recovery, I shall be unable to teach, which is so very sad, since teaching is my supposed pride and joy.

The pain of these burns is exquisite at times. Since the adolescent dragon breathed its fire on me at such an inconvenient location, I can scarcely wear robes or any top at all, for fear they'll stick to me like my brilliant Shiva costume did.

Just an aside: who else is hoping that father and son shall grace us with a family portrait that includes their matching bloody noses?

Severus has been most strict in making sure that I eat, though I must say I am often not very hungry. I've always had quite the bird-like appetite, which explains for my girlish figure. I suppose that is why Narcissa Malfoy felt it appropriate to attack Severus at the Malfoy Gala merely for dressing as me for Hallowe'en.

Poppy insists on ordering me to visit the hospital wing daily, though why I shall never know, since it is a burden to carry myself down there. Fortunately, Severus is often willing to be a crutch. Mr Potter was there this evening, no doubt injured by one of Hilda's detentions. It almost makes me admire Professor Vector.

Xiomara has kept me well-stocked in firewhisky for the duration, which I've been most grateful for. I do notice that the pupils haven't assembled a get well card for me as they did for Professor Black when he got drunk and crashed his bike into a tree.

Oh, I'm feeling weak now. Severus commands that I lie down.
