Current mood:Canadian

I have decided to spend the first half of my holiday in exotic Canada, where I am currently sitting in a pub that boasts live action, fast coffee, petrol round the back and Internet access. I suspect this was too much to handle and that they have put petrol in the coffee pot as coffee cannot be this bad based purely on the fact that it is Canadian. This and access to the live action I have purchased to what I estimate to be the equivalent of a single Knut. Canadian Wizarding money is as demeaning as Canadian Muggle money, which I used six years ago and realised I could buy half of Vancouver for the price of a unicorn horn. That however is nothing compared to Australian currency. Ah, British tyranny.

I was here for Canada Day, which the Muggles celebrate with their cheap imitation of fireworks and which the Canadian wizards celebrated by trying to con me into purchasing a tumbler of buttlebeer for the Canadian equivalent of a sickle, which appears to be, roughly, free. Also interesting is that I am in Ontario where it was amended last year that women may legally go topless in public, and thankfully few seem to be taking advantage of this, but those that are are, naturally, the ones that have been breastfeeding for eight years. If there were ever a time I wished more that I could use magic in front of Muggles, eh?

I've not been approached by one man in the entirety of the time I've been sitting here. I do not really care if this is inappropriate for students as am not currently at Hogwarts.

Happy, Albus?
