They've found Michael, thank goodness, thank goodness. He was rather clever about it, actually; he shoved a lot of books off of one of the bottom shelves in the library and curled up in it to avoid any falling debris from the explosion. It seems he got stuck there from sitting cramped up like that for so long.

We were in Defence Against the Dark Arts when it happened. No one really knew what was going on, but Professor Black was rather quick about ushering us to the Great Hall and then he took off almost immediately. I hadn't realised he was an Animagus; he transformed while he was running, which would have been exciting to see if not for the fact that we were all rather terrified out of our minds. Professor McGonagall asked Hermione Granger, Hannah Abbott and I to help keep things in order, and Ernie Macmillan was actually a surprisingly large help. At first no one would tell us anything, but naturally rumours started to fly.

Hermione Granger said she didn't know what had happened, but that the teachers were looking for Death Eaters around the school. We found out rather quickly that the Apparation wards had started to go down; from what I understand, not all of them went down. The one in the Charms corridor went down first. Hermione said the Death Eaters tore down the Apparation wards at Hopkirk's house a couple weeks ago, so she expects it was practice. No one is certain it was Death Eaters, though.

And why would it be? I don't know if You-Know-Who has come back or not. I don't believe that Harry Potter did anything to Cedric Diggory; but I suppose I just don't want to believe that You-Know-Who could be back. I don't want to believe that there's someone out there who would be willing to kill me because my mum is a Muggle. I love my mum, and she's as good of one as anyone else's.

A lot of kids were missing on Friday, but filtered in largely through the weekend. We all had to stay in the Great Hall until they were certain whatever had happened was finished happening, and now we've been set out and they're clearing the North Wing. I can't believe the entire thing collapsed. Someone suggested aliens from outer space.

There are a couple younger Hufflepuff boys who seem to think Harry Potter did this. Pretty impressive of him, if you ask me, to have skills beyond NEWT level. I find that highly unrealistic.

The entire fourth year class from Ravenclaw is missing. I do hope they kept their wits about them, but it's hard to be hopeful.
