Current mood: sore
Current music:Acciohead - You and Whose Ghost?

Drop of a hat.
Everyone's awake and running about owing to the fact that the Hallowe'en ball is tomorrow. I think everyone is quite excited about Hallowe'en. Morgan Mullarkey, Stewart Ackerley and I are going to the ball as a dysfunctional family, so Morgan and I are playing Stewart's parents. Stewart will wear torn robes and talk about anarchy and rebellion and the fact that we are suffocating him while I offer to cast spells to make him more handsome. Morgan will just hide behind a newspaper.

I'm terribly hungry, so I think I'm going to go down to the kitchens and see if there is anything left from dinner. One of the first years in Ravenclaw has been having nightmares lately and I've not got much sleep. Unfortunately, now that I've been given the chance to sleep--the fifth year prefect has offered to look after her this evening--I can't seem to do so.

I've noticed that more of the first years are anxious to go home this year than last. There are generally homesick first years every term, but those that come from the Wizarding World are terrified after the attack on Hogwarts last year. It's funny, because that doesn't seem like it was four months ago. Well, I guess it's not funny. Needless to say, it's difficult to believe. In some ways it feels like it was yesterday and in some it feels like it was years ago.

Daphne Greengrass is waiting for the computer, so I ought to finish this entry.

Have you stolen socks at any point in the recent past?

turpinol @ 2003-10-30 09:13 pm UTC

That's awfully forward of you, isn't it?

Thanks. What are you going as?

You'll see! I thought about going as Blaise Zabini but then I didn't feel like walking around in a fog all night.

I suppose going as Blaise Zabini would be avant-garde.

My brother told me that a Ravenclaw in his year went as silence once.

My sister once went as a giant leaf. She had to walk out of doors sideways and when she couldn't sit down she cried. She was about nine.

That's not funny, it's traumatic! I went as a foe glass last year and when we were leaving the dormitory I fell on my back and no one realised so I got stuck there all night! It was horrible.

Pardon me, but I believe that face does not belong to you.

a_slytherin @ 2003-10-30 09:33 pm UTC

it does so!

perfectprefect @ 2003-10-30 09:35 pm UTC

I am afraid that it does not. It belongs to Penelope Clearwater. Were that in fact your face, clearly the avatar you just used would be the same face, but it is not. That is Narcissa Malfoy.

Thank you, Professor! I merely attempt to use logic.
