Oh, no!
I came home a bit early from the party last night. Guess my heart wasn't in it because I didn't feel I could go with Sara.

Anyway, Gran sort of pried that out of me this morning when she asked me about the party. And then tonight she absolutely appalled me by announcing she had </u>called Sara up on the telephone and invited her to go out to tea</u>!

I didn't even know Gran knew about telephones. 'Don't be ridiculous, Neville,' she sniffed at me. 'Of course I know about telephones. Even the stupidest person picks up some things about muggles by the time they are sixty-eight years old. You'll join us, of course.' Apparently she went into town to make the call! And Sara said yes, so I am doomed.

At first I was afraid she had invited Sara here--I mean, it would be hopeless. Gran has magical stuff all over the house. But no, she picked Madame Lucinda's tea shop in town--Madame Lucinda's married to a muggle, and she caters to both wizards and muggles. I would have tried to talk her out of the whole idea, but Gran didn't even ask me first!

I absolutely have to convince her not to wear the hat with the stuffed vulture.
