Oh, no!
A stack of books I had piled up on the table beside me toppled over when I turned and jabbed it with my elbow, and they fell over onto my inkwell, which emptied itself over all my Transfiguration notes from this past year. Which might not have been so bad, because I could always use the scourgify spell, right? Except that when the ink well went over, I stood up so fast that I knocked my stack of this year's Potion notes into the Common Room fire.

Bloody hell.

It must be a sign. I may not survive N.E.W.T.s at all.

Oh, Neville! Don't worry - those were just accidents, and we all have them nearly every day. If you need to borrow any notes, you know where to find me.

Thanks. I might like to look them over. Um, are you familiar with any transfiguration spell that reconstitutes the original parchment from ashes? I'd check my transfig. notes, but my scourgify spell doesn't seem to be working very well.

I'm hoping it's just nerves.

Well, I suppose that depends on how badly the notes were burnt - if they're just pure ash now, then there's probably no way to repair them, I'm afraid.

Yeah, I'm afraid there's not much left.

I suppose Professor Snape would say they probably weren't worth very much anyway.

(Could you let me know when you're studying some class other than Potions, and you could let me look over your notes? I promise to sit well away from the fire and my ink well.)

Sure. And you can sit wherever you'd like, Neville! I have three back-up copies of all my notes.

You do??!!

Hermione, you're amazing. In that case, I'd be very grateful for a copy, for both Transfiguration and Potions. Thanks a tonne!
