Icon post
Mood: accomplished

With all the gloriously amusing posts in the last few days, I had to make a batch of icons. Mostly from the Sirius/Remus/Severus conversations, plus a couple of others.

Oh my God, those are fabulous.

(parent)

eponis @ May 1 2003, 01:10:50 UTC

::glows:: Thank you!!

::mutters:: Now if only I could append them as extra credit to the paper I should've been writing . . .

(parent)

elite_stoat @ May 1 2003, 01:16:09 UTC

Yes. Life's really not fair, is it? But at least you made some nice, shiny icons.

(parent)

imbecilic @ May 1 2003, 01:11:20 UTC

*loffs* The Sirius one is awwwesome. :D

(parent)

bookofjude @ May 1 2003, 01:12:59 UTC

Sugarcubes one is BRILLIANT.

(parent)

eponis @ May 1 2003, 01:15:37 UTC

::blinks:: Sugarcubes? There's the one that's tofu, but . . . or is it late, and I'm not catching the sarcasm?

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 01:17:07 UTC

You should have used a different, darker tofu, I think.

(parent)

bookofjude @ May 1 2003, 01:23:02 UTC

Er--It's late and I think It's me that's out of it. Tofu, I meant. I dunno where I got sugarcubes...

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 01:16:20 UTC

YOU GOT RID OF THE JOKERMAN! <3

*still very amused, not homicidal any more, hasn't gotten any work done*

(parent)

trowa @ May 1 2003, 01:21:27 UTC

yay Celery Stalks at Midnight! That was one of my favourite books when I was a kid.

(parent)

moony @ May 1 2003, 01:40:09 UTC

Mine too! And Howliday Inn (which incidentally I borrowed the title of for my Lupinslash list).

I love Harold.

milenalupin @ May 1 2003, 03:07:00 UTC

*amusing*

Are we shipping NrAgers now? *g*

(parent)

Anonymous @ May 1 2003, 03:12:01 UTC

have you not seen them?

(parent)

eponis @ May 1 2003, 03:16:52 UTC

See, everyone agrees!

(parent)

milenalupin @ May 1 2003, 03:17:14 UTC Re:

must have missed the special thread...

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 03:25:25 UTC

Hmmmm, I want everyone to sufferhave fun, so let's ship more nragers! First order of business: give me someone really smart who writes long insightful analysis to ship with sistermagpie. ADD YOUR OWN!

Maybe next we can ship anon posters. Anonymous (03:15)/Anonymous (01:35) is MY OTP.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 04:37:17 UTC MASSIVE APOLOGIES TO SISTERMAGPIE

This is just an evil idea I received, and it's really someone else's fault. It would have been worse, but I couldn't work Insight!Slut into it, because my brain hates me. The idea here is that Anonymous posters often have massive essays full of insightful things to say.

(parent)

milenalupin @ May 1 2003, 05:33:25 UTC Re: MASSIVE APOLOGIES TO SISTERMAGPIE

Yeah, but that's the minority of anonymouses (or is that 'anonymice'? - I wouldn't knw, I'm neither anon nor insightful) who hog all the brains. And they're rather hard to get hold of. Grip tight, if you catch one.

Which makes it difficult to ship anon/anon as well. Too confusing. *sighs*

(parent)

milenalupin @ May 1 2003, 05:48:41 UTC Re: Found one!

As I said: Grip tight and don't it run off scared.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 06:51:28 UTC BEHOLD!

BEHOLD! Icons for the Anon/Anon shipper! It's OTP because, who knows, it might be! It could be Voldemort/Dobby, Dumbledore/McGonagall, or even Harry/Draco!

(parent)

Anonymous @ May 1 2003, 13:57:28 UTC Re: BEHOLD!

What's OTP?

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 16:17:09 UTC Re: BEHOLD!

YOU MUST BE SHIPPED!

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 16:33:40 UTC done

(parent)

Anonymous @ May 2 2003, 14:11:16 UTC Re: done

Lol. But, uh, seriously.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 2 2003, 14:43:13 UTC Re: done

seriously? what is this you speak of? Does it have anything to do with black dog animagi?

OTP = One True Pairing

(parent)

eponis @ May 2 2003, 19:00:32 UTC Re: done

Addendum: OTP is used in seriousness to indicate the couple that you really support, write websites about, write stories about, etc. For example, PotterStinks/Just_Harry is the OTP of many people on NrAged, and Mulder/Scully is the OTP of many people in the X-Files fandom. Less seriously, it's used in jest to pick an unlikely couple and joke about being a big fan of their relationship, e.g. "Ron/Giant Squid is my OTP!"

*loves* Can I take the last one? I am such an icon whore!

(parent)

eponis @ May 1 2003, 16:24:42 UTC

'Course, enjoy!

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 16:46:07 UTC

Better than I imagined it. Except that it's fucking OS X. Why can't I escape the macs?

(parent)

eponis @ May 1 2003, 17:51:31 UTC

Muhahahaha . . . it's because everybody uses Macs. You should too! After all, they're the standard platform . . .

::chuckles at silly Micro$oft users who don't know OS 9.2 from OS X - as you'll note, the bars at the top of the window (under "N_A stole my GPA") are sharper and darker than window bars would be on OS X::

Snerk.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 19:23:09 UTC

Why the hell are you using OS 9 for anything?

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 19:54:14 UTC

There's nothing wrong with OS 9.2.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 20:23:11 UTC

Besides it being A) Mac and B) not OS X?

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 20:36:01 UTC Re:

Macs are much more stylish than PCs.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 20:43:56 UTC

Nsync has style, this does not mean their music is good. I leave the rest of the analogy up to you.

And OS 9.2 is not even all that stylish, it is shit.

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 20:53:04 UTC

Nsync has style, right. You want stylish? This is stylish.

9.2 is PRETTY.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 20:55:53 UTC

Well, that would confirm my contention that style does not translate into musical ability.

Pretty, and not much else.

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 21:03:52 UTC Re:

My computer does not like this abuse. If it self-destructs, I will sue.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 21:06:05 UTC

If you're running OS 9, I hardly think it can be considered MY fault, since that's a natural cause and effect relationship between running OS 9 and self destruction. OS 9 is much like Windows ME in that respect.

(parent)

eponis @ May 1 2003, 23:38:46 UTC

::butts head in::

A) The computer in question was the iMac at the library. I use OS X myself at the moment.
B) 9 is a lovely OS. It's quick, it's simple, it runs on low amounts of memory, and it runs just about any non-Cocoa application. Don't be dissin' mah Macs.
C) You use Windows. No one in their right mind would willingly use Windows. Therefore, you are not in your right mind. Therefore, your illogic need not concern me.

::ships notapipe/non_inferno - theirloveissobickering::

(parent)

notapipe @ May 2 2003, 00:27:17 UTC

Duh, library. I am, apparently, not in my right mind. But at least my wrong mind has zsnes. Which is another reason why my paper is coming along at the pace of an asthamtic snail.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 2 2003, 01:44:38 UTC

"theirloveissobickering" is partially responsible for this icon (was what made me turn my Kerry-looking-weird icon into an OTP icon). I changed it because sniping is better, but this is the source (plus, if I do a Chris Lehane/Matt Gross icon, I'm using bickering).

I just wanted to let you know of the evil you have wrought.

(parent)

eponis @ May 2 2003, 13:01:08 UTC

DEAR LORD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!?!?!?!

::goes to commit ritual suicide now, having shamed her parents and disgraced her name::

Er, and I don't know what font I used for the OTP, but I'll tell you next time I'm in the library.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 2 2003, 14:44:21 UTC

Oh, it gets worse.

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 16:21:29 UTC

I feel like such a celebrity.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 17:12:43 UTC

That means somebody eveyone knows. They're gonna recognize your eyes, your hair, your teeth, your boobs, your nose.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 17:26:10 UTC

So the funny thing is this: you're associated with a golf club hitting a small picture of Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy. Who does not have your eyes, your hair, your teeth, your boobs or your nose. (feel free to correct me on any of these accounts)

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 17:37:45 UTC

What if I were to correct you on all of these accounts?

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 19:24:52 UTC

Well, I would probably act like a baby and call you a jerk for correcting me.

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 19:48:40 UTC Re:

You are wrong. On all of these accounts. I look exactly like Tom Felton.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 20:07:11 UTC

*puts fingers in ears*
Stop lying, non_inferno! We're all so very sick of your lies!

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 20:33:52 UTC Re:

I do not lie. I am a little British schoolboy.

You did not call me a jerk like you said you would. Is this your kindness and mercy, or did you just forget? Because it would seem that you lied, but that's not possible.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 20:39:41 UTC

Little british schoolboys do not listen to garth brooks.

I said I would PROBABLY call you a jerk. I made no gaurantees. Turns out I didn't.

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 20:42:34 UTC Re:

Little British schoolboys obviously do listen to Garth Brooks (CAPITAL LETTERS). I think I would know.

I missed the probably. See my honesty?

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 20:49:03 UTC

No one besides born and bred Americans with no taste, and Canadians with no taste, listens to country music in general, or gartH brookS specificially. It follows that you must be a born and bred American with no taste or a Canadian with no taste. It follows that you must be a born and bred american or a canadian. You are not a Canadian since you are an american, therefore you must be a born and bred american. It follows that you are not a little british schoolboy.

There's something I don't get about this self-portrait thing. Are you also a disembodied head?

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 1 2003, 21:00:18 UTC

I do not like your logic.

The portrait is symbolic. I am not actually a disembodied head because that would involve typing with my teeth, which I would be no good at.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 1 2003, 21:04:29 UTC

No, the illogical seldom do. The fact that it's all good logic makes it even more despised by those who abhor the truth.

You could type with your nose.

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 2 2003, 14:00:02 UTC

See, I thought about my nose, but how would I move it? If I typed with my teeth, I could use my jaws to propel my head forward. Would the same work with the nose? This question has plagued me for minutes.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 2 2003, 14:45:15 UTC

does this help?

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 2 2003, 18:53:45 UTC

I am at a loss for words.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 2 2003, 20:35:35 UTC

How about: "Thank you oh genious who can't use the paintbrush tool very well when he doesn't try; that was amazingly insightful"?

(parent)

non_inferno @ May 3 2003, 11:20:14 UTC

That is what I meant to say.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 2 2003, 00:29:14 UTC

What font is the OTP icon using?

(parent)

eponis @ May 3 2003, 16:28:46 UTC

Eurostile.
