I think Remus's stint as a woman is finally coming to an end.

Lets hope so, it would be awful if he had to get married as a woman.

yeah, I'm still blanching over the fact that Sirius has been having carnal relations with a J.K. Rowling look-a-like.

Alas, I disagree. I think Lavender's going to wear a tiny dress to a "normal" wedding =/

that is, if she can get out of the toilet long enough to actually attend the wedding. I'm curious as to what other people think of her emerging eating disorder.

I saw that Neville noticed....

Yeah, I almost missed that......but then the whole "you rush off after meals and such.." it just kind of clicked. Feel somewhat silly now.

I noticed that as well- what stood out to me was Neville's remark about her running off after meals and always hiding in the loo. Could we have a bulimic witch on our hands? As someone mentioned in an earlier post, I think, I do wonder how the wizarding world deals with things such as eating disorders. In a society that has a spell to cure just about every physical ailment there is, how do they deal with psychological problems other than magically induced insanity, etc.?

danibennett @ May 8 2003, 22:30:26 UTC Re:

Yeah, you never really think about what psychological disorders may affect our beloved Potterverse characters. In canon (aside from Neville's parents) there's really no mention of anything like that. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, as Hermione is now forcing Parvati to meet her for meals...

Exactly. And the way the topic is broached in the books makes it seem as if psychological problems in the wizarding world are just locked away and not dealt with, almost. Bones can be re-grown nearly overnight, but mental illness is terminal, off to St. Mungos for you. Perhaps I'm over generalizing. But it will be interesting to see how this plays out, how the problem is addressed if it is at all- the mindset of those girls is rather chilling, really.

I know. I recently started reading Lavender's LJ, and it's filled with "today I ate...." and so on. Rather disturbing actually. And then they started trying to convince Professor Lupin-as-woman why thin was so much better :| This is going to be a rather interesting situation I think, to see how people react, or if they notice. I also noticed that in canon, how if you have a physical injury then it's immediately fixable. But if you're mentally incapacitated, then it's off to St. Mungo's for you, and you're really never heard from again.

I dunno... I don't like the way he called them both down rather than just tell Remus that he found the antidote. The way he didn't say anything specific suggests to me that he's found the reason why Remus is still a woman, but not the solution. I personally am hoping for mpreg, but I think it's unlikely that Snape would discover such a thing.

Anonymous @ May 8 2003, 22:17:26 UTC Remus is back!

I take it back: Remus's icons have changed back to men! He's using a gender neutral one for now, although that might just be to throw people off until he officially posts the change. Still, if he wanted to keep a low profile, you'd think he would have chosen a color other than red :P (side note: new icons! yay! I particularly like the owl one, that's a really clever idea). BTW, when exactly is the wedding? Since I'm new here, I haven't found the original proposal post or wedding announcement yet, so I don't know how close to the deadline this is.

Is it possible to update LJ while knocking someone out with a copy machine? I rest my case.
