NA Soundtrack!
Mood: fine

Apologies if this has been done a million times over, but I was listening to random bits of music today, and came up with an idea. How about an N_A soundtrack? Just a little anthology of songs that make us think of Nocturne Alley, or even this community itself ;).

All I’ve got so far is Garbage- Only Happy When it Rains. Because inside, we are all angst junkies, especially in this community. :)

And, for my fangirl needs, Zwan- Honestly. I can see that song being a post-denial Draco song, or something, when that boy gets some sense and goes after his onetruelove. Or maybe I just am insane, and like the song. O_o

There’s also Ani DiFranco- Falling is Like This, which sort of fits, kind of.

So, um, right. Any ideas?

I second Zwan - Honestly. Because that song rocks. Also yeah, it could apply to Draco and Harry's future love or it could apply to Sirius and Remus...

Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits for the whole urber cute Sirius and Remus relationship. It's filled with so much angsty yet romantic bullocks.

Am I not pretty enough? ~ Lavender and Parvati's quest to be prettier!

Pain by four star Mary~ Draco , mainly because the songs pretty much the anthem for people who are " enraged"

I'm thuper thanks for asking~ South Park Sound track , Harry when his acting like his on drugs.

Paranoid~ Black Sabath , Ernie's song 'nuff said.

Every me ever you~ Pansy's song , mainly because of her cruel intentions icons but also because it's a song about manipulation.

Flag pole sitta~ Harvey Danger , don't know why but this song always reminds me of Snape.

Boot's incest song.
Dra-co Maaal-foy.
Everything by Rage Against the Machine.
Everything by NIN
George Michael - I Want Your Sex (because of the omnipresent "I want your hex")
NPR.
Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf
Into the Woods - No One Is Alone (okay, this is just my Sondheim Harry Potter song)
Follies - Buddy's Blues (For M.B.)
Buffy Musical - I've Got a Theory !!!
Chicago - Cell Block Tango (Molly!)
XTC - Angry Young Men
Placebo - Pure Morning (it's an nraged thing that will probably only make sense to me)

Embarrassingly, "I Started A Joke" by the BeeGees makes me think of NA. Angsty, and I imagine in the lyrics that the narrator would be the player and the world would be rest-of-NA/NrAged.

I also find "500 Miles" to be so Remus and Sirius. "I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you...I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you...I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you...", etc. :)

But only from Sirius's viewpoint. :P

The Volga Boat Song, of course. "I've Got a Theory" would work, too.

I've Got a Theory is slowly becoming the nRaged anthem in my mind.

Anything by the living god that is Hawksley Workman. His song "Dirty and True" works exceptionally well as a S/R tune.

Oh. And the song "Kids" from Bye Bye Birdie. Or whatever it's called. Rather appropriate at times.

You're a Hawksley fan? He is definitely a living god!

I vote for "Tarantulove". I'm thinking S/R, but possibly H/D.

Well I'm no doctor baby,
but I know what's good for me

The way he sings that, it just makes me shiver. Actually, the whole song does, but anyways. It seems fitting.

Whenever I hear 'Come Fly With Me', it is so easy to picture all of nocturne_alley doing a song and dance routine in the middle of a quidditch match.

"Duvet" by boa—interesting perspective on PS/JH, I think. (Or I could be succumbing to the ooh! cool song! tendency.) The first verse especially.

"Keep Young and Beautiful" by Annie Lennox—who else but Lavender and Parvati?

"Something More Than This" by October Project—Lucius and Narcissa, I think.

and of course "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane for Terry. ::grin::

HAHAHAH Mustang Sally! Because it rhymes with Nocturne Alley and I always sing those words instead and.. okay, maybe it's just me :-" If anyone could do a whole parody of this song, I would be their whore, man.

'Don't You Forget About Me' - Simple Minds. Simply because of the Lupercus/PS Breakfast Club homage!

I think the perfect song for j_h is Ani Difranco's "As Is." I can imagine that his feelings for ps might be something along these lines.

Lyrics are here. If you don't know it, download it. It's a good song in its own right.
