wouldn't that be a sweet thing of "neville the terrible and evil" to do?

Anonymous @ May 13 2003, 01:09:48 UTC

I would guess Lupin or Sirus but they're NOTINTHECOUNTRY so who does that leave?

(parent)

siren52684 @ May 13 2003, 01:11:27 UTC Re:

well...when did snape make notice of the "boggart?" maybe lupin or sirius left it there, and it's just taken snape a while to find it?

I say Dumbledore gave Sev the kitten.

notapipe @ May 13 2003, 01:12:11 UTC

Perhaps he should consider getting rid of it. I do not trust that Neville. It's probably a spy.

Like everything he does, he cloaks his spying in the cuddly cloak of seeming harmlessness. That's how they get you.

Did you know that during the cold war the US government was working on installing spy equipment on cats? Well think how much better magic is for that sort of stuff. He could probably even put it toads and frogs.

Anonymous @ May 13 2003, 01:08:38 UTC

I wonder where it came from? Did someone give it to him? if so who?

(parent)

notapipe @ May 13 2003, 01:11:13 UTC Three thoughts for the price of one

Oh god, that is so cute.

It's kind of a Draco!Kitten, isn't it? It's got those blue-gray eyes, gray (which is close to silver) hair and it whinges about food.

I am distressed by the cardboard in Snape's rooms, however. Not very wizardly. :P

(parent)

siren52684 @ May 13 2003, 01:12:35 UTC Re: Three thoughts for the price of one

snape's room....bwahaha, and all i can think of is sirius's prank on snape, in which he turned his room all pink and girlie and stuff. if i remember correctly, lavender LOVED it. :)

Pets are a wonderful source of unconditional love; maybe we will see a change for the better.

I wonder what he will name it. I hope it's a girl.

Kitty is so pretty and those eyes are something else. Kind of like Harry's, only blue.

(parent)

kat99999 @ May 13 2003, 03:01:10 UTC

Cutest. Kitten. Ever. *pets* I don't where it came from, I know the common theory is Neville heh, but ..awwww. Man. I have such a weak spot when it comes to pretty little kitties. *pets more*

(parent)

zorb @ May 13 2003, 08:03:42 UTC

Ditto. It's adorable. *wants*

Let's take it off Snape's hands! *g*

Catnapping time!

(parent)

quixotic_sense @ May 13 2003, 04:20:28 UTC

KITTY!!!!!

Ahem. I mean... Most people seem to think that it was Neville, and it does seem very Neville-like to give Snape the kitten he always wanted to "apologise" for the comments Neville left in his journal. I can't help but think that it's a bit too obvious, though.

But if it wasn't Neville, who can it be?

(parent)

siren52684 @ May 13 2003, 04:21:36 UTC Re:

i know. and i really REALLY don't think it was neville. nor do i agree with the whole "neville is evil" schtick. but i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 13 2003, 08:11:59 UTC

The fact that you do not accept "Neville is evil" just proves how fiendish Neville really is.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 13 2003, 06:04:36 UTC

okay, now it's starting to scare me.

(parent)

cirakaite @ May 13 2003, 06:49:18 UTC

And awwwwww. Lavendar & Parvati plan on calling it Muffy. Or Bunny. But Snape will be thrilled *g*

(parent)

Anonymous @ May 13 2003, 15:01:16 UTC

"I've got a theory... it could be Bunny!" That cat is obviously a spy. But at least it's cute!

(parent)

sistermagpie @ May 13 2003, 06:49:43 UTC

Awwww. I predict it will take no time for Snape to secretly wuv his kitten. In fact he already does. Snape should have a kitten. He needs a kitten.

(parent)

zorb @ May 13 2003, 08:29:55 UTC

WAH, I just had a really disturbing thought about where that kitten might have come from, involving McGonagall and Mrs. Norris and making no sense at all.

*goes to scrub brain*

(parent)

moonlitpages @ May 13 2003, 10:21:51 UTC

*laughs!!* Not unless there's something either 'Mrs' Norris or McGonagall aren't telling us ;-).

Hmm- my guess is that it might have been Sinistra. They are friends, or used to be, and she does have a very twisted sense of humour (a woman after my own heart *grin*), I wouldn't be surprised if she found giving Snape a kitten very amusing. There's also the fact that it was just left in the cupboards for however long. A more soft hearted gift giver might have been too concerned about the kitten's welfare to shove it in there. But who knows? *shrug*

(parent)

zorb @ May 13 2003, 11:30:33 UTC

Heh, yes, I know, it is thankfully impossible.

Well, impossible that it's both of theirs, anyway.

Sinistra is a prime candidate, I agree. Perhaps in conjunction with M.B., whom we know has a cat.

(parent)

moonlitpages @ May 13 2003, 14:27:45 UTC

Or perhaps a sordid threesome involving Crookshanks? ;-)

(parent)

neveth @ May 13 2003, 15:00:58 UTC

I wouldn't put it past him. He's such a ladies' cat.

(parent)

notapipe @ May 13 2003, 16:28:23 UTC

So it's okay to have mpreg, but not fimpreg? (I realize that "fimpreg" sucks) This is terribly unfair. Especially since it IS possible, with modern medicine, to do the latter, but the former is still the domain of scary fangirls and Arnold Schwarzenagger.

I don't think having a cat would make one more likely to drop a cat off in Snape's rooms, unless they really hated their cat.

(parent)

zorb @ May 13 2003, 21:36:38 UTC

Never said anything about mpreg, did I? I was planning on being very weirded out if Remus's hot flashes before he transformed into a woman were pregnancy symptoms.

It's all about having access to a kitten. Sure, you can buy them, but it's a lot easier to use what you've got already.

(parent)

ex_meiko437 @ May 13 2003, 17:04:34 UTC

dear god, that cat is CROSSEYED.

but I just picture snape holding a kitten, and can't help but go all warm inside.

Has anyone notice that in his user profile, he lists kittens as one of his interests?? He likes the kitties!

(parent)

darlulu @ May 14 2003, 02:53:49 UTC

Lay one more emaciated hand upon the feline Miss Brown and you will scrub every cauldron in this castle. Twice.

Don't call her Bunny.

It keeps staring at me. Why?

God, I love Sevvie!

And surprisingly, sinistra is speedily growing on me as well...

No, Lucius. Grey is the old black. Grey is the improperly laundered black. Do you think, though, that Sevvie shall decide to finally let his hair go grey if he believes it's the new black?

Okay, I'm giggling now - a sure sign that it's time for bed. Good night all. ;)

(parent)

aurorasinger @ May 14 2003, 14:09:58 UTC

It occurs to me that purestblood must be American, because the first time, he spelled the color grey with an "a" ("gray"), changing it to "grey" only after sinistra had spelled it as such.

Just an observation, but one that I find amusing due to the fact that our darling looshie would probably look down on all people without proper British accents. ^_^
