A Question
Mood: confused

I don't know if this is just me, some quirk of LJ, or something I can fix but several times over the last couple of days the nraged posts about NA goings on have arrived on my friends page before the NA posts they refer too. This tends to cause much panic in my head as I try to work out how I missed an entire post until I look further up the page and spot the original post.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Same here.
I can only guess that it's got to do with different servers, and some people being able to "see" NA posts faster than we do, place their NrAged posts, which in turn we get to see earlier than the actual NA thingies.

Oh, well. At least we're not suffering alone. Thanks for reassuring my sanity, by the way. *g*

I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with posts or communities being set at different times. For example, a squee here is in reaction to Seamus chasing off Ron here. Online at the time, I can assure you that there was a gap -however minuscule- between Seamus's post and the squee reaction. However, the time for the former is 19:15, and the latter's is 18:23 of the same day. Applied to posts, this sort of thing would probably result in NrAged posts appearing on your friends list before the NA ones. This seems to be something to do with how the times are set.

And notice how you posted this topic at 18:33 on the 27th, and I commented at 13:29 on the 27th. Just a matter of how your computer's clock is set, I think.

I thought it might have to do with the fact that there are people here from all over the world => different time zones. Dunno, just a thought. I did notice it, though.

From what I have gathered, lj has been having some server problems lately. I will refresh a page and have posts disappear, or threads disappear. Posts will say, 5 comments, and then 25 the next time I refresh, and 13 when I refresh again. It seems that the lj servers are not all backing up at the same times, and so one will have more recent information than the other, and whether you see it or not depends upon which server you hit when you request a page. Frustrating as hell, but that's the way it goes.
