So--I may be sounding stupid here--but do we know who gave him the Potions text? There are plenty of signs that point to potterstinks but I don't want to leap to any conclusions...

I'm a little confused. I understand that we don't know who gave him the book for Christmas, but I don't see why it would be Draco, even if he is our favorite Potions student. Maybe I missed something.
Of course, it could be him just because it couldn't be anyone else. I'd at first suspect Sirius or Remus, but both are apparently ignorant of it. Next I'd think Dumbledore, but then Harry would have probably said that when Snape crowed about him going to be expelled. So I guess it really does lead back to Draco.
There's always the possibility too that Harry doesn't know who gave it to him, that it was a surprise. Awww. And if it was Draco, he's now embarassed and his on horribly embarassed and so avoiding talking to Harry and going on a het rampage. So I guess Draco really is probable, though I would think it horribly out of character. Or at least the character that we know. Unless the book has a curse on it, or better yet, a love charm. ;)
There's lot of hidden sides, but also so many possibilites, more when considering the sharp increase in slashiness. Remus/Sirius, Ginny/Cho, Seamus/Dean - everyone seems to be getting together (in some cases, again). It could set the stage for some delicious H/D. *wishful*
