Mood: amused

I don't think I could love him any more than I do right now.

My name is Kat and I'm addicted to potterstinks.

>:D< The squee that post generated could probably be enough to power a small tugboat or something. I like Harry's reply too, just cause it looks like they're responding to each other again in that playful way...

I suppose we really do need some sort of support community for the addiction. He really is a brave soul for facing that elf with all those scary...teeth. And feet. And pillowcase. *sniff* Bless 'im XD

He is so addictive, isn't he? I could read his stories all day ... muah, I think Harry probably could too.

They say the first step to recovery is stepping out of denial. :D

How cute is Draco's "Oh, that's just a boring little story. I wouldn't tell everyone of my real heroics. I can deal with the followers that may arise from this small tale." It sounds like he's liking the idea of having Harry as a fan :)

I think that Harry likes being his fan, too. <3!

Yes, their interaction here is beautifully flirtatious. :D

Even better, it hints at an intimacy in their friendship/relationship: that he tells (or will tell) things to Harry that he doesn't tell anyone else. Even if it's just silly flirty things.

Good point. It definitely reflects how their friendship is becoming stronger. If Draco is able to flirt with him so easily without Millicent's prods, perhaps they are moving closer together to something more - if it hasn't already. Woe and despair should anything happen to disrupt their relationship's progression!

dragynville @ June 14 2003, 02:37:19 UTC

Oh definitely. And it shows he's more comfortable with his sexuality for him to be openly flirting like this.

Plus, I don't recall ever seeing him flirt in this way (natural, open, teasing) with anyone else..?

doingfirst @ June 14 2003, 02:45:42 UTC Re:

Perhaps Draco is out of denial now!

He doesn't flirt like this with anyone else at all I think. When M.B made a pass at him, he used his enraged icon and yelled something at her. Heh, can't remember exactly what was said ...

And he always seemed so stiff and formal with Pansy. Seemed to compliment her clothes more than her, too.

I just noticed that Draco has still yet to reply to his father. Is that usual for him (to wait so long to reply to Lucius)?

I think that will be the norm from now on. Draco has finally seen that his parents are human and flawed; he's growing up.

All I have to say is that the "Pansy was alarmed that we had put entire fruits in the cake" is WONDERFUL. Fruit being somewhat derogatory slang for a homosexual, is a wonderful Draco and Millicent self-reference...and parallels interestingly the Slyth reunion and integration of all that has changed.

I didn't even catch that! :D

Wow, I didn't think of it that way either! I was just laughing at the idea of the two of them as completely inept bakers.

This entry, besides being wonderfully written and hysterically, is a nice parallel to M.B.'s taunts of Harry. As great as it is for Harry to have someone to lightly tease him about being TBWL I think it's pretty cool that Draco is playing around at being Harry, the hero who doesn't want everybody to know his brave exploits. I mean, obviously ps knows that Harry has these kinds of stories for real.

The most interesting line in the entry for me, though, has to be this: "I don't quite see the point in these journals, as no one is going to write down anything honest where everyone can see it and if they do they're a fool who likely doesn't have anything interesting to say so it certainly wouldn't matter. "

Um...okay. Anybody want to unpack that statement? PS announcing that only a fool would ever write anything honest in a journal if something important happened? Can't help but wonder where that epiphany came from or exactly how he applies it to everyone including himself...

"I don't quite see the point in these journals, as no one is going to write down anything honest where everyone can see it and if they do they're a fool who likely doesn't have anything interesting to say so it certainly wouldn't matter."

Hmm, I didn't read it that deeply--I think he was just being snarky and pointing out that the population of Hogwarts isn't exactly known for using their journals as a place of deep dark confessionals. Although, possibly, it indicates that the journals, and that tendency to hide what you're really feeling, are on his mind now that he's just gone back and re-read his old journal entries.

sistermagpie @ June 15 2003, 07:29:39 UTC

That's kind of how I was thinking...not that there was necessarily a specific secret he was keeping now but that this was on his mind because this is the kid who's thrown himself into this journal project with the most gusto. Although what he's saying here is true I wonder if it's anything he's ever thought about. Like...obviously he's never been completely honest in his enteries but I wonder if he ever consciously thought of himself as being dishonest either. I can imagine him thinking about this more as he went through his journal and Harry's, since the contrast between the two is so huge. Both of them are putting on an act in their lj's, though, in their own way.

What I find interesting about that is that it echoes about half a dozen of Harry's entries exactly. Well, minus the bits about fools who have nothing interesting to say, anyway. But he spent an evening recently rereading Harry's journal, and now he posts this. And then goes on to tell an obviously fabricated story about a house elf. So, what I want to know is, what was the honest thing that he decided not to tell us?
