Tana Leaves, Les Caves du Vatican, and now, yes, it looks like the Ark itself. Snape is having the summer vacation from apocalyptic B-movie heaven. These posts are a blast. Hurrah for Snape's player!

pardon my idiocy, but what are the first two?

*hates explaining jokes, mutters under breath about Google* ;)

The smoke of burning Tana leaves is essential in restoring Mummies to life, as any devotee of '50's black and white horror films should know! The cellars of the Vatican contain unspeakable things, unspeakable things. A few of the more weak-minded popes have lost their sanity when they discovered the truth.

Snape's itinerary -- Egypt, the Vatican, Ethiopia -- is just pushing all those ancient religio-mystico-psycho-horror buttons. Or so it seemed to me, in a whimsical moment.

Um, that sounded mean. *blushes* I was just teasing. I shouldn't post before having coffee, no subtlety!

Do we know of any other artifact with Nazi-melting properties? I also note that my esteemed other self's title extends his poetic tastes.

I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions.
What ever you see I swallow immediately
Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike.
I am not cruel, only truthful--- The eye of a little god, four-cornered.
Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is a part of my heart. But it flickers.
Faces and darkness separate us over and over.

Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me,
Searching my reaches for what she really is.
Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon.
I see her back, and reflect it faithfully.
She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands.
I am important to her. She comes and goes.
Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness.
In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman
Rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.

wibble comfort!Severus rides again. ;_;

And it sounds like Sevvie's vacation is a mix of business and pleasure. Order business, that is. *raises eyebrows*

I just love waiting to see where he's going to show up next.

he should get like, a trenchcoat and matching fedora. only it can't be red, cuz he's a slytherin. but i think green's against everyone's tastes, too. but still. trenchcoat and fedora.

notapipe @ July 13 2003, 04:09:11 UTC Look, for the last time, I'm not the Spanish Inquisition, I'm not Cab Calloway..

However, if it's not red, people might mistake him for Indiana Jones, what with his travels.

that can't happen, silly, indiana jones didn't wear trenchoats. indiana jones spent most of his time getting his clothes ripped and torn off of him and getting beaten to a bloody pulp.

although the ripping and tearing sounds pretty good for our dear sevvy.

*points to other response* I was just going to post that link...
Also, "So, this 'box' of yours, might it melt Nazis?" references the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark". In it, both Indiana Jones and the Nazis are trying to find the Ark of the Covenant. It's a pretty entertaining movie.

I'm killing myself laughing at the comments - I love the Snape-Lupin interaction. Their players are excellent!

You only wish you had such natural grace and my uncanny expertise with infectious Latin rhythms, Lupin.

Hee!

That, to me, was the best line in the entire exchange. That made me snigger.
