I find it curious that Lucius hasn't commented on Draco's... disappearance. So maybe he's not really gone. Or maybe Daddy doesn't realize Draco isn't there.

Neither of his parents have commented.

Narcissa is spends more time with her friends or doing things for herself than she does with her son. Lucius only shows up when Draco has made him proud, angry, or when appearance dictate that he should be present.

Draco's parents sometimes treat him like a trophy and sometimes they ignore him because he doesn't fit into their schedules. I've always felt sorry for Draco and have sometimes wondered if he isn't a bit jealous of Ron, who has caring and involved parents.
