So, how much credit for new 'n' improved Slightly-Softer!Severus (TM) should be given to Cho Chang? Has our would-be dragon tamer proved her suitability for her chosen career?

I'd say having company (of the bossing him about and making him have a little 'reluctant' fun variety) on his journeys has done him a world of good.

It wasn't only Cho though. Granted, I think that hanging around an optimistic, newly-graduated teenager did help--he started 'changing' before he left.

He's still a bastard, but he started softening up (with Remus at least) well before the summer.

*such a Snape/Remus shipper*
