Perhaps things are improving for Narcissa?

'The air is less constrictive for the moment' and the promise of a family day trip seem to suggest that things between Narcissa and Lucius are less tense that they were. Perhaps Lucius' business/Sirius was a no show in London and some temporary reconciliation has been reached.

I agree, but it also seems to me as though she is very wary of Lucius and the entire situation yet: although I hope that the atmosphere will become much more suitably pleasant in time, I am not certain that much can be done to rectify this.

I just hope Lucius doesn't take this temporary lack of hostility as an invitation to resume some of his former activities. For his family's sake, definitely, and for Sirius' sake as well.

I think it goes the other way -- when things are icy with Narcissa, Lucius begins to look elsewhere for his pleasures. But when things are going well between them they're fairly self-contained (apart from episodes with the cabana boy...).

Hmm. I wonder if Narcissa might be making an effort to patch things up with Lucius to try and lure him away from Sirius, sparing Remus some hurt?

It seems rather possible, actually - Narcissa has proven herself to be more than she appears on the surface, and she genuinely does wish to help Remus. Then again, there are quite a few unresolved issues between her and Lucius too, and I hope they can resolve some of those for their own sakes.

If Narcissa has "flaccid pillars" on the mind, this may offer some unexpected insight into the Lucius/Narcissa dynamic.

And speculating on Draco's issues, I wonder how he will react as well.

LOL It is certainly an...original way to describe the tower.

Maybe Voldie decided it wouldn't be a good idea for one of his top supporters to go splitting up with his wife. She would know a lot of secrets, after all. But it's probably good for Draco that things seem to have settled down a little bit.

On a completely different note, is it wrong that I immediately thought of Ron (http://www.livejournal.com/users/knight_to_h3/) when I read 'Maloney joins Scotland squad (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/scotland/3157247.stm)' on the BBC website?

Don't make me invoke Godwin's Law, now.
